God bless our Nanny State....WA is now bringing in laws requiring 4-7 year olds to sit in booster seats.

What is the narrowest ADR-compliant booster seats out there? I need them narrow as I have to fit a 5 year-old, 9 year-old and 6 year-old across the back of the E90....the 5 and 6 year olds now need to sit in booster seats. Grrr..

Don't complain too loudly. If you ever have the misfortune of being involved in a crash with your kids in the car, you'll be grateful of the "nanny state" rules. Personally, our son will be in a booster seat with H harness until he's too big to fit, regardless of what the state legislates.

I'm not so much complaining, just echoing the OP's comment on how ugly our seats are and that I want the narrowest booster seats possible because I have to fit 3 kids across the back in comfort. My kids were well and truly strapped in according to our WA laws - which are/were a bit more relaxed than the rest of the country.

I couldn't agree more. Saftey first. We have another car that we transport our family around in. My M3 will never see a 'seat' in the back..

I have the little 'Safe n Sound' booster in the boot of the vert for the 3 yr old grandson when we pick him up...

Its quite narrow and takes up no space at all in the back seat of the vert which are very narrow compared to the 1er coupe... The seat belt fits in perfect through the allocated slots on the booster.

Grandpa Zuzu,

Booster ain't suppose to be for 3 year old, unless your 3 year old grandson is tall enough. The reason being the adult seat belt (particularly the chest belt) is not at the right height.

You can get around that though with an add-on, making adult seat belt to a harness like belt. Also from Safe and sound.

Sorry to dig up an old thread.
But for those who have bought the maxi cosi, can you please tell me where i can order one from that would ship to Aust?

Also what are the penalties/implications of not using an ADR approved seat?

The reason i want the maxi cosi is that it seems to be rated very highly on the safety aspect of things as well as it fits onto the pram with adaptors..( so i dont wake up the little one)

Any help appreciated.

I bought from this guy on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MAXI-COSI-CAB...item5ad3fb898d

Was the cheapest I could find.

Unsure what the fine is but it would be a major dickhead of a policeman to book anyone for using one.

Yep babycare.nl are good too - bought the playchain and rain cover from them - both excellent.

We use the Maxi Cosi in the bee all the time - he sleeps really well in it - car or bee.

Seeing more of them around lately and it gets some many looks, people come up all the time and ask what it is and how awesome it is.

malvern135i funny that this topic is bumped because i had my baby on tuesday. hehehe
anyway we have one base for the maxi cosi in my vert and the other one in kevs Prado.
Unfortinatley if i was by my self there is no way i could get the capsial in and out unless i took the roof off to get it in or out.
If you want you are more than welcome to have a squiz at the seat in my car, just send me a PM.

Mine fits (coupe), I have the seat tilted forward a bit and it goes through quite easily!

Congrats BTW! 8 months later and still miss sleep...
