Bavarian Technic cable free back-end flash

Hey everyone. I'm in central PA. If anyone is in the area or really wants to drive here, and wants to do the free backend flash. I'll let you use my bt cable. If you want to make a donation, I won't tell you no. I just used it on my car and it worked perfectly. Use at your own risk. The only stipulation is you have to come to my house and use it. I won't ship it. I like helping people out so if you wanted to try it out. Here's a free chance. Plus it's always fun to meet more BMW drivers.

What does the "backend flash" get you or change on the car?

It's the BB open source flash. BMS has there own free ecu flash that transfers some of the piggy back responsibility over to the ecu. It's been described as the best of both worlds. Flash and piggy back. I only loaded the pump gas flash and the car runs a lot smoother and just feels better. Can't wait for the spring to run the E85 map.

There are quite a few people making there own flashes. I've heard of a few names been thrown around. If you check out the N54 forums it's all explained in one of the stickies. I'm only going with BMS flash since I'm running their JB4. Also been a few stories of other peoples flashes not working.

Do you have the ability to do coding? Like deleting the seat belt chime, window safety etc?
I would certinly be willing to make a donation for that

I myself haven't dabbled in any coding yet. There is another forum member near me that has started doing that and did a little to his car already. I dont have the cord. I can tell him to get ahold of you if you want. Im pretty sure there's alot of people around Philly that do that at car meets around there. Might want to check that out.

What was he using to code Bav Tech or the open source source software?

Hahaha. He didn't break anything. He has a you tube video on the success. I use the Bav tech for the backend ecu flash. That compliments the jb4 i run for tuning. I believe he used a inpa cord. I could be wrong. Ill have him pm you. Might not be until tomorrow though. There's an app that can do it through a blue tooth obd2 adapter. I think that all depends on your car year and if its supported.
