Don't see any blood in the car. Must have walked away. Don't know about the passenger though....

It's certainly a horrific accident, but the passenger side and roof were obviously peeled off by rescue crews. On a quick translate of that page, it looks like there were survivors (babelfish's translate made it sound like the man in the jacket was the driver, but I can't believe that). |

Are speedos made to peg at the moment of impact?

Yes I was thinking about the Speedo stuck at 160kph. I would have thought that they would return to 0 once power was cut. I could be wrong though.
Looks like the airbags did a good job.

100mph ish on a snowy road! I guess the tach. readlines due to loss of traction plowing through the woods during an extended crash.
Looks like they hit that first tree, left some bits behind and continued into the woods. wow. very very lucky if there were survivors. you know what the old saying is. god looks after children and fools.

Its a Russian BMW club site. I just happened to speak it Everyone survived the crash passenger and the driver. The rest of the thread is speculations on how it happened. One interesting post is the the possibility of the DTC/DSC trying to over correct the trajectory of the vehicle and driver doing the usual "turning the wheel into the spin". Anyway, glad everyone lived, and the hatch seems to be a pretty safe car.

After a time-consuming and painstaking analysis, I have come to the conclusion that the accident had something to do with going really, really fast on very slippery roads.
