Hmmm. No golf tee mod exhaust pipe valve! That's something that probably makes it growl a bit more.

A common mod was to unhook the rubber vacuum line, and stick a golf tee in it, and keep your exhaust freer flowing 100% of the time.

On the 3 series, there's a butterfly valve in one of the tail pipes, that is vacuum controlled to open and close at times. This 135i doesn't have that.

It's there... there is a solenoid controlling the opening of the outer (left) pipe. Not sure if it is electric or what but there is a pic of it somewhere on here. Shouldn't affect performance but would be cool to have a mean sounding idle...

yes, the car was open at all time, including the convertible. I will have some more photos soon. The only one we couldn't get in was the Tii, they opened the door to take photos and that's about it.

Hugo will have tons of photos also, we met there

Where?

I think you might be thinking of the vibration damper that mounts to that side of the muffler...

Yes, that's the vibration damper. It keeps the exhaust from shaking the car.

Check out part number 3, named "Vibration Absorber".

Maybe, but I think it's a bit sad that I know trivial things like exhaust vibration dampers off the top 'o my head.

But if you didn't know that, there would probably be an endless debate about how the 135 is soft and isn't a drivers car because it has valves to keep the exhaust corked during light throttle.

We don't need that....:iono:
