Why are amber angel eyes so hard to find?

Anybody? They seem to either not be an option or out of stock.

Hmm Burger use to have them. Not sure why they stopped selling them. None on ebay?

- Quick google search. LUX still sells them directly for $200.

I think LUX is the only option. Can anyone explain the 200 dollar price tag? Just curious.

Yes. People are willing to pay it, so they charge it.

Pretty much. I'm hoping someone will come out with an 8LED amber option soon. 4LED amber are pretty dim at times.

We have put extensive research into the design of the light fixture, orientation of the LED, but most importantly into the LED Driver used for these. Most people might not know, but we were the company that designed the original shape that everyone has since copied. The power supply as i mention is the most crucial piece of this because that is the brains of what drives the LED's. Most of the stuff on e-bay is made with the cheapest components, are not fused, will create EMI and are designed with parts not meant to last.

At LUX we strive to deliver a high quality product that will last and will not fail. If the led driver is not fused and something fails, well its essentially a ticking time bomb that could melt down or fuse electrical wires - trust me i've seen it . We don't offer these products out of greed but as a necessity to make the best products on the market

Amber LED's are not as efficient as White and even adding 8 per fixture wont have a significant or most likely even a visible difference than the 4 LED version. The major problem with amber LED's is that as they get hot their efficiency drops much faster than their white counterparts. The overall demand for Amber LED's in the automotive angel eye market only accounts for less than 5% as well so there hasn't been a large demand for them

I have amber or pretty close and used regular Halogen bulbs, couldn't be happier. The outer halo is slightly weaker but still looks good imo. I get compliments all the time.

Just wondering but what bulbs are those. They appear to be more of a yellow color vs. amber. Yellow bulbs are more of a 2000 - 2500K color while amber LED are are a specic wavelength around 680nm. Here is an example of what Amber LED bulbs could look like as a comparison :

Lookin good! Hardware was designed for halogen and always looks best with halogen light sources. I keep hoping for an amber halogen h8, don't think it will ever happen at this point.

I have lux amber angel eyes and love them. It really is hard to find anything else on the road that looks like it. Got tired of seeing tons of white so wanted to be different and went with the amber. No regrets on paying $200 either.
