I just drove my friend's TL this weekend. Really a nice car inside, but really was no contest in handling or driving feel. I mean, it wasn't even close! I am typically very fair in comparing cars, and I remember why I didn't get a TL now.
Just cornering and goofing around in a parking lot, I was able to get the front tires on the TL squealing and the car was understeering with very minimal cornering force. The engine is nice in the TL though. Very responsive. |

All the Acura(probally others too) people are screaming bloody murder. They claim that BMW wins because the editors(all the editors, not just Car & Driver, LOL) are biased, yea biased to good cars! They all hate BMW so much it's scary. I came from being a Honda-only family, and I saw the light, how come they can't?

Funny how the editors of C&D ignored all the "malfunctions" in the E90 and gave it 1st. I too am a Honda fan, and the cars are solid as a rock in terms of reliablity. (I still have 2 Hondas in my garage!) But I have to say, the 3 sure is FUN to drive! O, yea, gotta bring back my E90 to the dealer AGAIN next week. DOH! |

Good article. I never drove a BMW before I test drove the E90. When I got out, I said "now I get it".

Me too, kind of. I rode in my friend's E46 which made me start looking. Also another friend's 530i. I ended up ordering my E90 without ever sitting in one or seeing the color combo I wanted. I just knew what I wanted. There was a time when I "didn't get it." But now I do, and I'll never go back.

It is strange, checking out the comments on this string like "now I get it"; it was the same thing 30 years ago when I drove my first bimmer (a 1600ti). A different experience from anything else, close to the feel of a Mini Cooper S or a Lotus super 7, but a practical car with room and a view. Not your father's Olds, or in my case, MB 190sl. And it cost me $900 (108k miles used).

This is my favorite line "But, oh, what a machine!
". I know there are some biases, but who cares. I buy the 330 for these reasons, I like its look the best and I like it dynamic performance the best. Sure I don't like the glitchy software malfunctions. To each his/her own... |

Do you want to be with someone who is reliable, but dull and unexciting? or Do you want to be with someone who is unpredictable, spontaneous, exciting, and fun? I sound like a drama-queen hahaha

I still have'nt experienced any of the problems reported and I can hardly believe how good this car drives. The balance between drivability, comfort and usability is just amazing! I-drive has become a popular topic to criticize amongst test drivers. It might need some time getting used to, but when you can handle it, it's just fantastic. I also love the CA that makes the daily use even better. The E90 is just an amazing car impossible not to love after driving it! My only problem is to stick to the speed limits, even on bad and twisty roads on the west-coast of Norway.

I have a question.
Does C&D and all the other magazines usually rate BMW/Benz really high just because they are top german vehicles? I mean, as a 330i owner, I am VERY proud to see that(expected anyways), but im just surprised that BMW ALWAYS wins. lol. Yes, it was annoying when I had japanese vehicles, but now I love it. Im going to buy the magazine right now...
