Are we really this small?

I haven't driven my 135i vert in about 2 weeks. I have been driving my sister's 01 Mountaineer, which is a midsized truck. I was driving on the parkway today and a Montego Blue 128i Coupe pulled in front of me and I felt like I was going to run over it. It seemed almost dwarfish.

Are our cars really this tiny? Or am I just in 1 withdrawl and feeling huge in the truck?

My 128i' vert still feels huge compared to the Z4 I traded last year. Maybe you could rent a Mini to regain your perspective.

^^^ Yes...a refreshing change back to my old E30 size. Jealous you still have one. E46+ 3er coupes are bloated IMO.

one of my friends jokes that we can pick up my Z4 and put it into the back of his truck all the time. so yeah, going from that, the 1 definitely feels a bit bigger. but compared to a lot of vehicles on the road...its still pretty small.

Went from a Cooper S to a 1-series, for weeks the car felt freakishly big.

Two things. We are higher than I was in the Lexus SC430, and the car felt big at first. It feels normal now, about 5 weeks later.

On the freeway this past Memorial Day, I drove past a 318ti, and it looked a lot smaller.

The size of the 1er is part of the reason I bought it. Cars keep getting bigger and bigger and I have remained the same size. I drive an Acura Integra right now, which basically has the same dimensions. I love having the feel of control over the car, especially with 300 turbocharged horses pulling me around.

My friend with a 3series says my car looks like his but scrunched.

I say his car looks like mine...just slower and no turbo.

it isn't that the 1 is so small, it's that every other car is getting so big. seriously. cars have just gotten bigger and bigger since they shrunk in the 70's & 80's cause of the gas crunch.

It's small size is why I got it (well, ordered it at least). the width is the same as my jetta, and I have a thin garage.
