CSL wheel help
Hi all,
I wanted to know exactly what I was working with before I pulled the trigger on anything. I am looking for CSL fakes for a 135i on "stock" BMW M Performance suspension. I am considering V710s or GT-CX, and wanted to know which ones to get to prevent rubbing and get the best feel without having to roll any fenders unless it's actually necessary. From what I read, I can get V710 18x8.5 ET45 in front and 18x9.5 ET45 in back? Don't quite understand the ET45/50 part, just what I can find. Then run tires 225 in front and 255 in back unless it makes more sense to run 245 in back? I am not sure what the other number in tires I should look at, new to this stuff. I've been trying to look around and read but getting experienced opinions never hurt anyone. End game I really just want a nice set of matte black CSL looking wheels for an alpine white 135 I am working on getting... Last edited by cslotterback; 09-06-2014 at 11:14 PM.. |

VMR V703: http://www.velocitymotoring.com/wheels/v703/
This is the CSL wheel from VMR. ET45/50 is the 1 series specific offsets they offer. Shouldn't have any rubbing running 225/255 with that, and might be able to upsize to 235/265 depending on how much space your particular car has, and almost certainly can if you're comfortable doing a really minor roll. If you can find the Alufelgen CS7 that is another good CSL replica. I've hit some really gnarly potholes on my Alufelgens and they have only bent once, which was then flawlessly repaired in under an hour by my wheel guy. They're pretty strong and lighter than most VMR counterparts. That being said, the company is defunct I believe so they are getting really hard to source. Other than that, the Apex Arc-8 and EC-7 is sort of similar in appearance, though definitely not a CSL rep, just a mesh wheel.

Yeah basically anything close to a 18x8 ET40 and 18x9ET45 and some 225/40 and 255/35 18s and you will be fine for a worry free fitment. Use this calculator if you have any more questions... it's a great help http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12
