Has the E90 been in a published Crash test?
I know BMW and all Auto manufacturers have to conform to certain US standards, but is there a published crash test for the E90 conducted by an independent agency{NHTSA, IIHS, NCAP}?

The C6 is the first car to be awarded the maximum four stars for pedestrian protection. When the car senses that it is striking a pedestrian, a pop-up bonnet is activated, giving greater clearance between the bonnet surface and the rigid components of the engine. |

I guess it's all relative... when compared to those tiny cars in Europe. Even so, I would've called it a mid-size car.

According to this European group, the 3 series rated as poor for rear end whiplash tests...has to do with the design of the head restraints.

Now I find this out
An article just published by NHTSA says that compact cars suffer the highest fatality rate.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11103598/ I got my Familymobile thinking that (a) better handling, steering, engine and brakes equals better safety, and (b) failing that, I'd get good crash protection. On the one hand, now I'm worried. On the other hand, becoming yet another SUV-driving jackass strikes me as a fate worse than death. I think I'll start taking the subway more often. |
