Shaking itself to pieces...
Hi
2011 N55, manual Tonight, about 1/2 mile from home, after up-shifting from 1st to 2nd, my car started juddering. I backed off. Car was ok. Then slowly took the revs up, and at about 3500 - 4000 rpms the juddering starts again. I got home and checked underneath - just to make sure there wasn't some small animal or something stuck down there. Any idea? I'm obviously taking it in for warranty repairs. Just wondering if this is a known issue? Car has 1,500 miles on it. Cared for like an only child and all that. Last edited by BruceWarne; 05-24-2011 at 02:38 PM.. |

Normal shift at higher rpm.
No slamming, and nothing different to how I've been shifting in countless cars over the past 20 years. I always do a short pause in neutral, then shift through. Last edited by BruceWarne; 05-24-2011 at 10:40 AM.. |

It's happened to me before on a few occasions when I first took delivery of my 135i. I think it happened randomly up until I was at 5,000 miles. It hasn't happened since then. (62000 miles now)
I have no idea why it did that, I was fully stock at the time. It was like an earthquake when you used the accelerator no matter the gear or rpm. You can just turn the car off and turn it back on and it should be normal.

I had that happen to me once after my frist track day. I figured it might be the HPFP not keeping up with fuel needs...

Could be a bad MAF too, those things are having a ton of issues, eventually you should see an SES I'm guessing...
