I drive my car infrequently, particularly this time of the year. I can't seem to find reliable info on how long 93 octane gasoline lasts without fuel stabilizer. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Separately, has anyone had any problems caused by using fuel stabilizer in a turbo-charged engine?

I have to store my car from the beginning of November until at the very least, mid April, because of the weather.

When I tuck it away I have left 3/8's of a tank of fuel so I can start it and run for 5 or 10 minutes once a month. The plan then is on the day I take it out, I drive the three km's to the fuel station and fill up with fresh stuff. The idea to take it easy on the first tank.

I have been hesitant to put an additive in the tank of a brand new car. I follow my dad's ways, as he has a 01 supercharged Mustang Bullitt that he sometimes doesn't drive once in a year, and he has never had an issue.

I think IF you plan on storing your car for longer than 60 days... you should use a fuel stabilizer product.

These guys say to use one after a little as 30 days. Then again they are trying to sell their product(s)!

Its a fuel additive you pour into the gas tank. It hinders the fuel from breaking down and getting fowl or gummy.

Fuel stabilizers are intended to keep petroleum-based fuels, such as gasoline, diesel and heating fuel, from degrading over time. These stabilizing products are made by many different companies, but tend to work in about the same way. They prevent oxidation, fuel contamination and unpleasant odor, and help fuel burn efficiently.

I used stabilizer last winter, and had no problems. She was asleep for about 4 months. I made sure the tank was full. Same this year. That, plus a battery tender, and mouse traps near it to keep the little buggers from nesting in the car.

Arrow Liqui Moly 5107 Benzin-Stabilisator, 250 ml

This thread got me thinking that since I am not really driving my car this winter... I should start using a fuel stabilizer product. Today I bought some Liqi Molly fuel stabilizer. One bottle treats 50 liters of fuel. Perfect for our 1er fuel tank size.

Garage List
I was inspired by this thread to fire her up today, drive down to the store and get some stabilizer, and fill up on the way home.

Reminded me how much i enjoy driving the 1M, and it was the first time I got to hear the Eissenman and maddad combo which Santa dropped off for Christmas.

But with traction control constantly intervening, I was reminded why she sits in storage all winter. Now back into the garage until spring Can't wait until April!
