Aluminum Trim
Can somebody take a detailed picture of the aluminum trim? Is it brushed? I saw the new aero kit that states it is "brushed aluminum" but the normal E90 just states "aluminum trim". Can somebody confirm this? I still haven't seen the aluminum trim in real life. Only seen the wood trim.

Hi e90:
I test drove a aluminum trimmed car....I don't have a pic but there is a nice shot of one in the E90 brochure. It is definitely brushed. The mat. titanium is not. |

Here is a general pic of black with aluminum trim. Not the best pic because of the lighting but perhaps useful nonetheless. Oh, and yes, it is brushed.

I can't see the "brush" lines...is it there? It's real aluminum right? Cuz in the picture it looks more like the plastic trim. Thanks for the response and pictures!!

Aluminum Trim w/ Gray Leather
I've ordered and taken delivery on my E90 with aluminum trim and gray leather... although this does not seem to be a very popular combination, I think it came out looking excellent. If anyone else is interested in seeing what this combination looks like I'll be glad to post pics.

it was triple digits, just barely and my car's monaco blue (dark as heck)
no front sunshade it actually was painful when my leg hit the AL on the door panel I'd rather burn myself every once in awhile than have to look at wood trim though |

When I was in search for a new E90 5 weeks ago I had a choice of 2 in sparkling graphite.
The first had lemon coloured leather interior (with black plastic inserts on rear of front seats), it was trimmed in matt titanium, the other had gey leather with the brushed aluminium trim. Decision was made on the following: Didn't like the black plastic inserts of front seats, didn't like the plastic like matt titanium. The aluminium is in fact the real deal. It is cold to touch on a winters day (and no doubt hot on a summers day - if let standing in sunlight). The matt titanium remains at room temperature to touch (very much like plastic) all year round (it reminds me of the trim I had in my Cooper S back in '02 - exceptable in a mini, but less so in a beemer). If you get the aluminium trim, I would boldly recommend getting the optional sport steering wheel (it's a good look). At the end of the day it is what you like. |
