Video in the snow
I was bored on Saturday and I wanted to try out my new Canon 7D 60fps in slo-mo so I took the wife's car out in the snow...
Yes it is cheesy complete with feeble donut at the end... Tried to embed the Vimeo but I couldn't get it to work. Sorry. http://www.vimeo.com/8296446 |

Err, I have to register for Vimeo. Any way to make it public?
Edit: and now that I've registered, I'm told it's a private video and I can't watch it. |

The photos in the beginning, they're way to quick for one's eyes to rest. Just a little comment, make them a second or half a second longer so that our eyes can rest on the image

sorry for the tech questions, trying to dissect the 7D's 60p. any chance that you could upload a short clip of 60p footage to something like yousendit for me to download?
what shutter speed did you use for most of your shots?

I was using 1/125 shutter speed then stepping down the apature to get the exposure right. I have my 3 custom settings (C1,C2,C3) set to still, 24fps, 60fps. I followed the linked video below for setting up the 7D The files were edited in CS3 Adobe Premier and they are playing at between 20 and 30% speed. You are supposed to conform the videos to the speed using a certain technique, but thats over my head at the moment. Here is the setting up 7D video : http://blog.planet5d.com/2009/11/tyl...et-up-your-7d/ Here is a site I find a lot of useful info for video on the 7D : http://www.cinema5d.com/index.php |

Pretty cool, looks like the 7D does a nice job. Some parts where you can see the frames flickering but not a big deal, probably had to do with the fact that snow is hard for a camera to deal with for white balance and lighting. Some parts were kind of slow, but some really cool shots too, well done
