385 Bhp N52

Sorry I don't post here as much as I should but after Vanos and Valvetronic delete, solid lifter conversion with E36 M3 ITB's and a race header & system plus numerous other mods by Anderson Racing Engines here in the UK it made 385bhp on the rollers today, very pleased!

I now need a 4.10 or 4.44 diff, has anyone fitted one?

Whoa, that sounds delicious....must be a high rpm screamer! Any chance to see a dyno?

And sorry, don't have much to contribute on the diff portion. Maybe check http://www.teammfactory.com/ ? They seem to have a few options...

Good job Kevin !!

As for 4.1. The closet OEM is e90 IX pumkin geared at 3.91. (Compatible with 130i Input flange)

Alternatively look at e60 pumpkins which should need an input flange swap. although don't think they went beyond 3.91 either.

Good luck

Very difficult! Its taken two years. You need a cam sandwich block from an N54 to replaced the Valvetronic after its been machined off. The whole car has to be rewired on Motec. Block needs lining, custom cams, forged pistons etc etc. I wish I never started!

What's the most satisfying aspect of the build?
Does it allow you to stay in a certain race class?

Why?

Also, why do UK tuners insist on computing inflated BHP instead of just measuring at the wheels?

Its been satisfying because as far as I'm aware no one else has done this to an N52? Also it allows me to compete in under 3 litre classes keeping me away from M3's.

It is pretty awesome what you did, and I'm impressed, but can you really call your engine a N52 anymore?
