Top choices for hand polishes

Hey guys I am looking for 2 things:

1. Another go-to hand polish.

2. A professional swirl remover product that can be applied by hand.

I guess I'll order some more HD cleanse and be done with it.

As far as swirl mark removers by hand...I'll skip that part. Clueless to what I should get .

I bought Meguiar's Swirl X. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but they have lots of videos on YouTube. There's also Meguiar's Scratch X and Meguiar's Ultimate Compound but it all basically comes down to how much it cuts. Swirl C is the lightest followed by Scratch X and then UC I think.

This past week I started this swirl removing process. I wanted to go with the least abrasive polish so I started with Meguiar's Ultimate Polish.. and if that didn't work I was going to go over to the compound.. but as you can see, it worked quite well!

In the 3rd photo, it looks like there are swirls left but those are actually reflections of the sun off the garage door above the car.

There are still a decent amount of microscratches if I hold a halogen light above the paint, but those are of course much less noticeable than the insane swirls I had before.

So depending on how bad your swirls are, mine looked pretty bad.. and the ultimate polish did the trick and I hear the ultimate polish hardly removes any of the clearcoat.

Wow. I was looking at that stuff...I opted against it due to the cheap price $6 bucks. It looks like a great bang for the buck. I have scratch X and UC but definately dont need to use them. I just need a nice lighter polish and if I don't use Zymol HD Cleanse paint cleanee again (just clayed and used the HD Cleanse last week).
I'll give Ultimate polish a basic one pass application and get down to the stressful Waxing project I'm about to undertake (as posted eariler).

Update: Going to stiick with Zymol HD cleanse paint cleaner. I've been using it for over 10 years. Great paint cleaner BTW.

I have mixed feelings about polishing again after almost 2 weeks tho...but I haven't waxed the car yet due to no free time and my rigorous expectactions for completing such a process.

What I have is a car that was clayed, paint cleaned and polished almost 2 weeks ago...and has no wax protection currently!

I'm going to hand wash the car with Zymol's clear soap, and follow with 1 panel wipe downs of Zymol HD cleanse again--with liberal sprays of Megs Final Inspection detailer to help in the buffing of each panel. From there I'll Apply Megs # 7 glaze polish, followed by Zymol field glaze 20% pure carnauba spray....followed by an interior wipe down with Griots interior detailer spray and Armor All leather care gel. All done in an afternoon. Sealant and proper waxing will have to wait....I want to go with my Dad to a car show event tomorrow with his E82 1 series m coupe. Busy morning ahead though. Meeting for work at 9 am...then off to continue on with my personal dayy off! Let's see how this comes out!!

That's all I can get done in an afternoon. Gotta have realistic goals. Cleaning the wheels , adding a sealant wax and spraying wheel protectant will take an hour alone!

I got Prima Amigo polish...going to try it out after using the Paint Cleaner.

I've heard lots of good stuff about the Amigo product. It does say that it works in combination with Symthetics (Wax). I usually only use Carnauba stuff only for a straight wax.

Can I combine this Amigo process with my Zymol Stuff. The paint will be prepped with HD Cleanse paint cleaner then Prima Amigo, followed by Zymol Destiny wax.

Looking for quality advice;
Regards
Jim

Anyone know anything about Prima Products...especially the Amigo polish
I want to use it with all carnauba products...but right on the bottle it says it works best with synthetic polishes. Hmm.. And on the detail forums they rate this as the best recommended glaze/polish

Would it affect the bonding (feeding) of Carnauba stuff ???

I can't offer much advice on the Prima products but I can tell you that I have had great results with Meguiars products. This past weekend I began detailing my one week old jet black 1. It had 5700 miles when I picked it up. The previous owner must have kept it garaged because it was fairly clean, but it sat on a lot at the dealership for about 3 weeks through heat and rain storms. Needless to say it needed some work. I started with M205 and quickly realized I should have started with M105 but didn't have enough pads to do so. Most of the swirling is gone but I think at one point this car was run through a car wash which caused some horizontal scratching. I will be ordering more pads and going over it again in a couple of weeks. I am however very impressed with what the 205 alone can do. I use a DA but if you don't mind getting a good work out I have used these products by hand before.

If the swirls are not severe, Meguiar's products are really good and easy to apply. Their polisher spray is handy too. I used it combine with their liguid wax
