After thought of the conversation about the dyno figure (said nothing still :wink. The absence of LSD in your car makes the only difference is dynoing in different gear. Traditionally dyno at 1.000 ratio gives the best results, hence 4th gear?

Dynoing at 1.000 should theoratically gives the least drivetrain loss.
IMHO, I will take the highest figure

Nice one guys! It's a shame you didn't get an acceleration run done before the mods went in. Hopefully you can find a Melbournian volunteer to contribute that half of the equation.

Jeez, Avril gets around! I heard she had a lot of fun down your way. Hope she didn't break anything on her car (again). Poor Megan (Avril's MINI) is in a bit of a state at the moment after an encounter with a tyre barrier.

Haha funny Taka. 85kg btw, so you were wrong anyway.
I just got confirmation on the speedo speed using GPS in my car. I set the cruise control at 100kmh (it's digital so you can get exactly 100kmh) then let it run on a flat freeway for a few kilometres. With the current tyre pressure, 100kmh on the speedo = 98kmh in reality. So there you have it, 0-98kmh in 4.95sec, with two fat guys and lousy grip! Not bad if you ask me. |

We don't need a good driver (there is one already). We need a stock car, preferably white  want everything to be absolutely equal.

our dynos are all done in 4th gear. The problem with a dyno is it just show HP and TQ. People look at the max number and base their opinion on that. Cars that dyno a lot less than others. See better track times having a more fluid powerband. It all comes down to how your bolt ons/tune works together. Its not all about max hp/tq to have the fastest car.

Totally understood and agree. You can be way out even dyno on the same machine in different days. There are so many variables.

i did a 4th gear run as well as a 6th gear run. The comparison is the dyno thread on shows difference in stock to dp's in 6th gear. Now i have 4th gear dyno run with DP's and current mod on same day and same dyno and the results are :headbang: No-one has seen that chart yet, not even the owner. |

My understanding of dynos is you get the most accurate and relevant reading at the 1:1 gearing, usually 4th in manuals and 3rd in autos ( well, scummy aus 3 and 4 speed autos ! ).
Where torque and power is delievered is more relevant than outright HP/Kw. As an example, the xa ran 180RwKw and thrashed ( 13.3 Vs 14.1 1/4 miles ) a similar falcon that made 243RwKw as mine was all before 4500 rpm and his was over 6000 and was quite torqueless compared to the xa. Both were stock stroke 351s. My reading was way lower but the rate at which it rose in the lower RPMs was way steeper. |

Hi
Way,is the fuel pump keeping up with said mods or does it have a prostate :biggrinflow) problem if you are going for it of a long duration? Just heard it could be a limiting factor and might need an upgrade as mods continue. |

I am yet to find out as I haven't had it on full throttle for long (that requires the track). But from what I read of the guys who are racing theirs, it doesn't appear to be an issue.
