They are no where near the limit, the n54 runs hot and even the biggest ic that the make isn't enough to cool the charge, that's why most people run meth on these cars. I don't.

Meth certainly helps. But I'm waiting for someone to try water injection I reckon this will be better when ambient temps are close to 35/40 deg..

We can already have water/meth injection on our cars, the m4 gts has direct meth/water injection and that's never going to happen on the n54 engine

Why?
be heaps of work, need to have an opening in the cylinder for the water injector itd be too hard to do I'd say and with minimal benifits over port / charge pipe / throttle body water/meth injection.

i seem to remember reading the m4 gts is intake plenum injected for water. has 1 injector per 2 cyl to guarantee even distribution. don't think it's direct injected

Well earlier today I read that it was suppose to be direct injection but its not

http://www.m-power.com/_open/s/edito...d=3375&lang=en

The basic principal is the same on our cars, but ours is not factory fitted.

I think its still a work in progress, no results yet.

I know the ic is finished but the car isn't or something like that.

Ah, ok. Originally, I thought it was your car - after looking at the photos again, I see that it isn't.

The cooling properties of Methanol, along with water to keep it more stable, in our engines is great to keep IC and intake temps down. Not needed to boost octane levels any more with straight ethanol fueling.

The prob with using meth is if you're also using e85 it becomes very corrosive or something like that?

I haven't read anything negative about using both together.

Also, where would it cause corrosion? As the meth is being injected directly in the air intake, the only place they would mix together would be in the combustion chamber and I would think it very unlikely that they're corrosive to the cylinders and pistons.

But I rather tune the car in extreme conditions and later add meth for safety.

I don't want to rely on meth for cooling.

I have the NLS/2 step but because I was trying to fix the error code I was getting, I ran out of time to fit it.

Need to get a hobs switch to wire the stage 3 lpfp to it as you cant use nls while the jb4 controls the lpfp

The problem with meth is when controlled by the jb4 I can't use the ethanol sensor in the jb4 mobile app.

So its either nls or stage 3 lpfp and its either meth or ethanol sensor.
Which is why I did this...

It is actually corrosive to alloy and when using pi it can cause problems over a long period of time, that's why they don't recommend it.

It can eat away at the injector tips of your pi system, if you haven't got pi then you have no issues.

That's if your engine survives a possible leaking injector

I wish someone came up with a bigger injector pump and it would solve our problems

Wouldn't care if it cost 5k as long as it could keep up
