will an offset of 42 fit the 135i?

the wheels i am looking at are 17x7.5 et 42mm

and are sport edition cd's which are now discontinued. I just want to know if these will fit the rears of the 135i. Any help would be appreciated.

7.5" wide maybe with that offset but that is a horrible offset for a 1series

i thought most winter wheels at tire rack are et 40? wouldn't et 42 be better?

You would have no issues running 42's on your car. Especially if your on stock springs. If you look around you will see guys running up to 35 offset. Of course thats with some camber and a fender roll but thats all dependent on drop of course. Also with that 7.5 width you will have no issues.

Cool. My biggest worry is clearing the big brakes in the rear

with the 40 offset it should be enough but its all about how the rim spokes go.

whoops i meant i was worried about it fitting over the larger calipers on the front....
