Are you making a mold and casting them in clear ? Only asking because if the plastic you use isn't right you'll have discoloration crazing and other issues, I've designed a few headlights for some CAT and international products and you would be surprised of the things you have to test for and the heat that builds up in these lights even the non halogen. Good luck though

Finally got around to doing this.
Obviously I need to get better at pouring the resin without the bubbles, but once I get that down and a little trim and polish and I think they'll look good. I need a passenger side headlight to mess with. Anyone have one they want to donate? Or more specifically, I only need the orange lens, does anyone want to take apart their headlight and send me the orange lens to make a mold of? I'll send it back along with a set of clear lenses for your trouble. I'll also get some pictures of this lens installed.... once I find that spare headlight in the garage |

So how did you reliably get them open?

I would need more practice to reliably get them open. I got the one headlight open by putting it in the oven for 8-10 minutes at 210 degrees. Then gently pry and put back in the oven for 2 min. Repeat until they come apart.
I used to take apart supra headlights all the time, but these are so much harder to get apart reliably. It may be better to just use a heat gun and a whole lot of patience. Sorry, I know that wasn't the best answer to your question. |

Fitted them today. They fit really well. Ignore all the bubbles and haziness of the lens. The bubbles will come out when I get better at pouring, and the haziness is will come out with a wetsand/polish. The fit is nice though. Now to do the other side. Thanks SF for donating the lens.
