Question: Injen intake w/ AR Design DP's

Hey guys,

I've searched; however I haven't had much luck finding any posts with the mods on an 08 135i. So far I have a Cobb AP (dual cone intakes; which I'll be selling on I get the injen instates(s).vJust wondering if you happen to know what kind of gains I'll get on my 08 135i, unfortunately its automatic with steptronicv- but I'm hoping to see a nice difference with a pro tune.

By the way I have the APEX ARC-8's with Hancook RS-3's..

Any suggestions?

Thank you and kind regards,
Jim

If you're new to modding, the difference in intakes really isn't that much. But downpipes are huge. Not only do you gain power, but you gain a lot of spool speed on your turbos. The only issue I have with my Injen intake is the fact that it's hard to fit up a chargepipe/BoV.

DAMN!!!! Were you able to manage the install? Cause right now I have the dual cone's which seem to get heat soaked pretty bad....

Also will the DP's make the car sound better?

Thank you!!!!

DP's will make your sound 'better'. And if you're getting 'heat soak' that's an inter cooler issue not intake.

If anything the Injen intake will get less "heat soak" than the BMS dual cone because it actually funnels air into the intake.

Garage List
Any dual cone intake should perform similarly unless it's a true cold air intake. Most think dual cones help on tuned cars but on stock tunes the stock airbox might work best.

Downpipes help minimally on total hp numbers, same with midpipes or axlebacks. A full, no cat exhaust would help the most.

You should be able to get 380 to 400whp with full bolt ons and an aggressive flash tune. If you want substantially bigger numbers you need to go to meth with a piggyback that can advance timing with advancing meth flow/rpms.

Why would you order both the Injen Intake and BMS Dual cone? Does your car have 4 turbos or do you have 2 cars?

Nah.... just undecided which one to get since I ordered the following:
1. Injen dual cone (air funnel)
2. AR Designs DP's
3. Active AutoWerks change pipe (with Tial)

Per another user is was a PITA to install the change pipe using the Injen instake setup. So I was deciding to go w/ the BMS....

The ER Chargepipe and Tial BoV is the best fitting with Injen from what I've heard.

Not sure if I'm going with meth... I fI get close to 400whp after I installed a FMIC I'll be happy....

Interested as well. I'm new to the 135 also but not modding. I was gonna pick up the following. ER charge w/ tial,AR catless dp's, jb4 tune, berk full race. Undecided on intake and wether or not I need a Cobb or I can just get the jb4 w/ the g5 board. I think all that's right! I'm also auto. So very interested to see how this turns out for you. GL

Doesn't it make more sense to use upgraded diverters rather than bov on an automatic? I'm new to these cars and have an auto and just assumed diverters made more sense for us

To be honest I'm not sure; per Mod Bargains you can't go wrong with the Charge pipe due to boost leak issues....

Does anyone know if the "Dual Injen" instake with the air scoop will fit the Evolution RaceWerks N54 Diverter Pipe with the TIALQ BOV?

Thanks!!!
