bluetooth audio streaming connectivity issues
wondering if anyone else experiences the same annoying issue i have every now and then...
i use spotify on my iPhone 6 with the latest iOS. sometimes, when i get into my car the bluetooth audio will not connect. it'll just say something like unknown artist/track on my display. in order for my spotify to start playing, i'll have to usually do these two things: 1. load up spotify on my iPhone and hit play, even though it was already loaded before getting into the car. 2. cycle between different 'modes' like radio and then go back to bluetooth audio. |

Yes, I have the same annoying issues. From what I read, this is very common for our cars.

I was going to start my own thread on the very same subject when I came across this thread. I'll be driving along, and randomly the Bluetooth disconnects. And says Bluetooth not available. Usually just going to telephone and hitting my current phone brings it back up. But this is happening once or twice a day, and it's getting very annoying. These occurrences started about two weeks ago. My car has about 70,000 miles on it. 2012 135 with navigation. I also believe it's the upgraded stereo, though I'm not sure.

I often experience similar issues and I believe it's due to Spotify. Spotify also exhibits the same kind of quirks in other vehicles of mine with Bluetooth audio streaming.
I've put myself in the habit of selecting the song/playlist I want on the phone when I first get in the car. I then set it down, and use the head unit and/or steering wheel controls to advance to the next song, etc. |

ViseeO Bluetooth Adapter for Streaming...
1smokehouse
VRG_135 tock172 I think it's the early BT that was offered in the 1er. I have seen other suggest buying this BT aux in splitter from Amazon... All you need is the 6FL(bmw option) ie the USB socket in your center armrest and the aux in cable. I have not used this product.. I've only seen it recommended here on 1Addicts. ViseeO Tune2Air WMA3000B Bluetooth Adapter for Streaming iPod/iPhone/iPad to BMW/Mini with original AUX/USB Y-Cable Connection https://www.amazon.com/Bovee-WMA3000...ble+Connection

I have the viseo tune to air. I use it to play pandora. It works well with great sound. However, It also has some issues connecting and disconnecting.
I think it is b/c the music on my iPhone tries to connect kicking my Pandora off. I fixed the problem once by removing all the music from my phone. It worked better that way. I upgraded my phone and apple reloaded my old music. I need to pull it off again but it works fine most days so I'm it's not a priority.

Yah. I think that’s the issue. Apple tries to kick out 3rd party music players so it defaults to the Apple Music app.
That is probably why my spotify has such a difficult time connecting sometimes. |

I didn't think I'd need one considering my newer 1er has bluetooth audio streaming, but it seems the adapter actually worked better. I will, however, admit that most of the issues seem exclusive to using Spotify which has long put out a buggy yet capable app. I actually deleted the music app off my phone because of this. The vast majority of the music I want to listen to is saved in a few Spotify playlists of mine, and I still keep the music app fully loaded on my iPad. Apple is very intrusive about this. I would get in the car and constantly hear the first song in my library and it drove me insane. |
