Rear trim plastic coming loose. Suggestions?

Just noticed that a plastic trim piece is coming loose in the back:

When I push it in, it doesn't stay in on the left side.

Can this be fixed easily?

First off the entire diffuser is one piece. I can’t imagine why it would come out like that unless someone wanted to cut it out. You can try applying gorilla glue and push it back.

Boy, I am dying to know what is behind that loose piece of trim. Did someone make a Dremel tool cutout and then change their mind? Is the loose piece actually plastic or something else? Plywood? Cardboard?

More pictures please.

Actually it will leave a hole if you take it out. I had a ghetto mod a while back. I cut that portion out and had stuck a mesh I picked up from Lowe’s for a while. There’s even a diy about it in the diy section.

Could not find anything in DIY section except this:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...=Rear+diffuser

Did not want to pull in case it's just glued. My guess is that some flimsy plastic clamps broke.

pull it out and put chicken wire in its place..
its ricey.. who doesn't like ricey..
just playin.. I would put some adhesive and clamp it overnight.. no biggie..
or maybe this justifies one of those 100$ rear diffusers off of the bay!!

It's held on by double sided tape. Just remove it and replace the tape.

@Supragnat: Many thanks.

@BMW: Wow, your cars are held together by double-sided tape?!?!?
