Has anyone ever shipped a car and can recommend a reliable carrier?
Thanks.

I just shipped my car last week.. New york to Socal.. It really depends on what you want… I wanted an enclosed shipper so I paid a little more.. $1750 but 300 goes to a broker..I could have gone with the standard shipping but my car was lowered and I had a lot of parts inside the car which shippers don't like bc they do not want to be responsible for it and it adds weight.

I believe Transport reviews has a bunch or companies bidding for your service..

If you want the number to my shipper minus the broker.. I can give you direct number and save yourself some money..

Like I said.. I wanted the car in perfect condition so I opt to pay more and it came in great condition..

Msg me if you need help

I shipped my 135i from Souther Cal to Eastern PA when I bought it a few years ago. I used this guy then and I also used him without any problems when I sold cars a few years back. Company is 1st Call Auto Haul and his name is Eric Sailor. I don't have any affiliation with him, just was a completely smooth process in an industry that you can run into issues from time to time.

I've shipped a car multiple times. Unfortunately, you go through a broker and sets you up with a carrier. I've had good experiences and bad experiences.

Once your broker sets you up with a carrier, do some research. If the carrier got bad reviews, request another.

Agree on that. I got 3 or 4 bids a few years ago when I moved a car from SoCal to OH. None were even close to each other in price. Since my Acura wasn't that old at the time, I wanted someone reliable and checked references. Turned out well and delivered on time. I paid a little more than the cheapest but it wasn't the most expensive either.

I just shipped my wife's 128i convertible from Texas to North Carolina so we wouldn't have to drive both cars when moving here. North American Vehicle Transport charged me about $800 for an open-carrier transport. They were superb to work with and we had the car within a week. Ask to speak to Bobbi and she'll take care of all the arrangements.

Get yourself a copy of Hemmings Motor News(sold at any book store or magazine shop), there are LOTS of really good shipping companies in there. Reliable is a good one. Remember you get what you pay for. I seem to remember a 1Addict here who bought a 1M sight unseen across country. He went with a shipper who was $300 less than another one. That company used an open trailer and his car went thru a winter storm, with lots of rock damage. I would go with an enclosed shipper.

I used AmeriFreight recently as a broker and got a great deal quickly on shipping my old Saab from TX to CA. I had no problems with the shipper I got.

I also paid for the AFta gap insurance insurance you could get to insure what your auto insurance won't cover during shipping. AmeriFreight doesn't do enclosed, though.

A few friends have used www.Uship.com with good success.

From where to where? I've flown a couple of times down to get a car, and made a trip of it. Makes the car more memorable and can be a fun journey.

Hello man, as of late I transported my new car. I found one company. Their article made a difference for me to know how to calculate shipping fetched. At that point, they offer assistance me dispatched my car to me. The conveyance happened to be quick and of tall quality.
I suggest you examine this article https://getcarrier.com/blog/car-shipping-cost/
I am happy in case I seem to assist you.

Recently shipped a car from PA to Vegas, and a car from Vegas to RI

As others have stated, most "shipping companies" are actually just consolidators who work with independent truckers. There are some web sites where the consolidator will post your move and select a trucker from those who respond.
I went with an enclosed truck for my 2 recent shipments since the car was a convertible. However, I have had cars shipped as a part of company moves in the past where the company arranged the shipping and they always selected an open carrier because it was cheaper and I never had an issue.
There are some companies who actually own their own trucks and the drivers are their employees. In general, they are a little more expensive but have far better reviews because if the consolidator is not very selective, you can wind up with a crappy trucker. Of the companies who have their own fleet of trucks, Select 1 Group comes highly rated. They do a lot of shipping for car dealers. If you are not in a great hurry, they have a "space available" rate that is cheaper than using consolidators.
If you are in a hurry, as I was for one of my 2 moves, BJ Interstate was highly recommended to me by some prior users and they only charge a $150 fee on top of the trucker charge instead of the usual $300.
Note that some companies will not accept credit cards but must pay cash on delivery.
The most common complaint I see with consolidators is that the car is delivered and the trucker demands more money using some lame excuse. If you work with a consolidator, ask what they do for you if that happens.
Note also, that the companies want the car with only about 1/4 tank of gas to reduce weight. If you have stuff packed inside the car, they WILL charge you extra.

You don't have to use a broker
