April 2012 NASA NE - NJMP Lightning (80 pics)
Great race weekend with the NASA boys. On Sat our E36 (Bella) finished first in class and 4th overall (behind a cup car and 2 Vettes) Aaron Povoledo drove Bella, which made for an exciting day!

Wow, that's a lot of pictures of me and my car. The pic right before the police car is me riding along with Anthony in his awesome wide-body race car.
In exchange for all this publicity, I bought a new set of wheels on sale from VAC last night to use for street. They will look like this, but with BMW center caps and PSS tires, and hopefully my beautiful white Stoptech logo won't turn beige like that. |

Hey Gary, thanks for the order! I wanted to get more pics of your car but I had a hard time actually working and snapping pics of every Bimmer

Gary I'm jealous of the money you're putting into your car...put some into mine man and I can play at the track with you too!

OMG I hardly ever have time to read those magazines, thanks for letting me know.
I was so slow my first time out on Lightning, I don't think I even needed brakes. My third session, I finally got up to speed. About the brakes, I just told Chris, so I'll copy/paste: I used DTC-70 pads in the Stoptech calipers and DTC-60 in the 135i rear calipers. Braking was so easy and so consistent, no drama at all. I do see what people mean about DTC-70 being a little hard to modulate, but I think that's getting really picky. Anthony had the same setup on his wide-body 135i, and I also took a ride in a C6 Z06 that had ST-60s with PFC pads. Both of those guys said they love the Stoptechs too. So I'm pretty sure I'm done worrying about brakes. But ... have I ever told you how bad I want a Z06 dedicated track car? This one had Recaros, Hoosiers, everything. And that engine. |
