The cobb is set and forget with no updates in years.

The jb4 is an evolving monster, constant new updates coming out and always improving.

With the cobb the best I could manage was 12.5s@115mph down the quarter

With the latest firmware from jb4 and a lot of mods but still on stock turbos my best is 11.6s@121 mph last Wednesday

If you do decide to get the jb4 get the data cable with it so you can log and fault find your car yourself if needed, its easy to use and lots of support in the forums with people willing to help.
This is getting harder to decide now! haha
Ive heard nothing but good from JB4 so far.
Thanks a lot for the tips, appreciate it!

is that an extra map that you need to purchase on top of the COBB accessport?

Correct you have to purchase maps and do some logging, then they send revised maps more logging it could take s few days to get it right

Bit if a pain in the arse

Comes with several maps, but all are very conservative ones

You will get more power from a jb4 straight up with the latest firmware

So far access port as I had a custom tune. Currently only running map 1 on jb4 as waiting to install more mods before going to map 5. It's pretty good so far though, straight away noticed a big difference. Can't say the same for the first ots map I loaded on the cobb

IMO cobb is for the set and forget type owner who wants the convenience of easy removal.

JB4 is for the tinkerer and it does offer unrivalled support through product development.

As for power I think its a tad optimistic to state one type of tune offer more power than the other, at the end of the day the JB4/cobb shall provide similiar numbers if its setup correctly on a car that is well maintained (no boost leaks, fresh plugs/coils/healthy PCV system etc)

Personally my car produced some great numbers on the dyno with a simple cobb E30 flash tune

If we are talking straight out of the box performance you can't beat the jb4 and as he gains knowledge and begins to learn how to tinker with his car it can't be beat.

With the latest firmware the jb4 would be a clear winner in power numbers

I had both aswell and the Cobb was a pain to use, you had to carry it in the car, wait for a few minutes to switch maps, while the jb4 you can use map 4 on the hwy to save fuel or stock like performance and quickly switch to what map you like with two simple clicks of the steering controls when you get back to the city

The Cobb is expensive the jb4 is almost half the price atm

Unrivalled support for the jb4 and minimal Cobb support and waiting for days sometimes if you need help

Is there a difference in map 0 and map 4 in terms of efficiency?

Map 0 is jb4 turned off completely map 4 is stock boost but the jb4 is monitoring everything

If you run catless downpipes on map 0 the dem will throw error codes
