How many 1Addicts in Melbourne?

Hello everyone,

Long time lurker here, but finally decided to pull the trigger on a manual N55 Alpine White 135i. Pretty much stripped out besides the Harman Kardon. June 2010 build month, arriving late August 2010. I thought 135i N55's are all MY2011, but according to the dealer, mine will be a MY2010 N55. Anyone shed some light on this?

I know we Melbournians are blessed with someone called 'Andrew' who is your man for servicing and modifications. Does he still hang around this forum?

Anyways, who else is from Melbourne?

Regards,

Carl

Welcome. There are plenty of us in Melbourne - nice choice on the Alpine White.

It's Andrew Brien from Southern BM you're referring to, and yes, he's your man for mods. Drop him a line on 9555 4049.

I drive around town too. Not as much as cozza and Totti coz I keep seeing them on the road.

BTW - white is good. I have all modes of transport white if I could... or black.

I have 2 cars in white and 2 bikes in white at the moment. The old yellow bike I will paint it white.

You prob see me on one of these on weekend until next March. I have to finish the 230km 3 peak challenge next March labour day weekend.

Nice to meet you cozza!

I'm assuming you're japanese taka? Nice bike btw... like the 'rims'.

I'll be interested in some black kidney grills when I take delivery, Andrew. Have you got some in stock?

Liub, make sure you give us a review on the N55

For road use, this is what i like, it provides a balance between everyday use and sportiness.

FSD Shocks, BMW Performance Springs, H&R Sway Bars, Normal proper tyres, camber plates, Quaife LSD.

For people going more track focused then i would look to the M3 arms and subframe bushings, coil overs etc etc

Stylish- I get them in when required....

I am not Japanese and don't want to be one, learn to speak but now forgot, try to marry one but end up .... (I will stop there).

Not you started me to start about push bikes... I can't stop.

This is a 10' Specialized Roubaix S Works SL-2. I have Shimano DuraAce but was thinking about Di2 which is electronic very much like the DCT having instant gear change, but decide to wait since the battery is bulky and cost 50 grams.

The bike in this set up minus the pedal, bottle cage and attachment for the GPS is JUST over 7.0kg. This is the bike that Tom Bonnen won Paris Roubaix on, but obviously in different Team colour (I love Saxo Bank). Fast but yet soft on bottom.

BTW I can fit the bike in easily in the 1er, without risk of damaging the car and the bike. Take the front wheel off, rear seats down and rear wheel in the boot first. The front will can sit between the front forks.

The Mavic wheel you see Stylish, is aluminum with carbon hub. It is the cheapest and the lightest (bang for bucks), but it is not the most aerodynamics.

This is the wheel I am aiming for . I just have to wait for it to drop in price. They are $2800 USD retail atm.

I must have missed that.

Lightweight will be good. I am sure my wallet is also significantly lighter too.

Yeah I think I will see him again tomorrow. He is nursing his hamster alright. We have similar bikes but I opted for comfort rather than lightness.

I do long rides.... other than crit

I was originally set on Space Grey, but then I saw hundreds of 3ers and 5ers in Space Grey on the road, I sorta got over it eventually...

I currently own a Black Mazda 3, which is a pain to keep clean. How much easier is white to keep clean versus black?

Welcome.

I have a slightly modded AW 135i. I call it the white pocket rocket.

Am starting to see a lot more 135's around mainly in AW followed by black.

Hey Andrew my suspension set up has changed from when you put the diff and m3 bushes in.

Now have custom springs front and rear, re valved koni yellows, camber plates, and back to stock sway bar on the rear. Car is now a point and shoot weapon that doesn't understeer and still rides really well.

Should organise a drive day and all go for a hoon some where.

Welcome stylish - another Melbournian here.

With the change of weather I think I'm going to have a very dirty car now for the next 3 or 4 months if the past fortnight is anything to go on.

Maybe I should have taken the AW on offer at the time!
