On a side note, not having driven the car for 4+ months, did you notice any flat spots on the tires?

This is the one I've had hooked up to my 135 all winter and it's perfect.

Not really, the car drove as good as it did when I put her into Hibernation. Every time I drive my 1M after letter her sit for awhile it's like the first drive again. However I have to relearn all the iDrive stuff again.

Overall I think taking a break from a car is a good thing. It helps to keep the 2 year itch for buying a new car away. Not that I will ever sell my 1M but I have been known to have this itch in the past.

Good luck with that vendor on Amazon, I just received my nice BMW mens wallet instead of my BMW battery charger...

beware of AutoGoodParts

Ordering CTEK now....

Vendor won't accept refund; as good faith Amazon refunded my money and requested I return wallet with prepaid shipping label.

PLUS Amazon will credit next day delivery once I order another charger. Just not sure which CTEK to get.

I was really hoping to get my 135i on the charger tonight.. she is dragging...

my 1M was also dragging and had difficulties accepting my Cobb flash last week so bought the battery tender also...

info any of you interested, you can plug it in and touch the clamps together and no spark as there is a microprocessor that prevent power until it detects at least a 3 volt return voltage and I'm pretty sure I read it has a 3 second delay once connected to prevent sparks...

I did this for my 128i... I think(?) it would apply for your 1M as well.

The underhood charging point are super accessible and easy to attach charging clamps to, so just wondering why you went to the trouble of permanent install?

It's time to have a Battery Tender on my car when it's being stored for anything over a couple of weeks. $45 is cheap insurance towards avoiding a battery replacement.
Great minds think alike. 1mgator and I got ours two days ago too! Ctek Multi US7002.

My car sat all week, drove it to work and back and then plugged it in. It charged for quite a bit before going to full status so it looks like driving it didn't bring it back all the way.

Lol. I copied this and sent it to 1mgator! Didn't see you had already answered it. Nice pic. Thanks for sharing.

Either way, the hood has to be up for charging.

There's the (remote) possibility that the clamps could slip off (though the CTEK does have reverse polarity protection)... I like the positive connection that the polarized connectors offer.

Same here.

I've been using mine for a year to the day, ever since my battery fiasco with the local dealership.

I actually thread my leads down right next to the turbos I believe and then reach under the car to grab and plug in to the tender. There's not much room and it's a pain to do in the dark. But this way I can keep the hood closed while leaving it on the tender.

I route mine right next to the point of the front fender above the headlampo and it doesn't get pinched with the hood down.

Just don't forget to unplug it before a drive! Been there done that...

All the more reason to leave the hood up.... Pretty embarrassing to be dragging the tender and an extension cord down the street.
