Can I change the question up slightly?

Whose keeping as a DD vs whose keeping it as a weekender?

Mines staying a DD until the Fiesta ST is launched, then its being retired to weekend fun duty.

DD until i'm out of college.. my first semester is just ending. I'll keep it until it blows up, then replace it with another DD and build it into something fun and different. s54 swapped, 1m/widened conversion and m3 suspension bits... i can dream.

- one of the best hydraulic power steering you can find, not interested to lose this connection with one of the new electric power steering system
- if the front of the 2-er is as ugly as the F20, count me even more out
- Not sure whether they will have the manual stick as good as this one. From several reviews, it looks like the stickof the current 1 series is one of the best BMW achieved.

I feel like the 128i is one of the last of its kind, almost a relic of what BMW's used to be, true to its roots and I don't feel excited by what is coming, as gorgeous the new 4 series seem to be...

Dude get what fits you. I recently bought my DCT 135i. I test drove the 128 and 135 in MT, DCT, and Auto. I very much enjoyed driving the MT. It was a very differently experience. I went with the DCT 135 because, 1. I paid 27,500 for a 2011 that's lower than the price of a brand new 128i. I. Didn't go with the manual transmission because I drive about 60-80 miles a day and face quite some traffic on certain occasions. Manual was not practical for me. Think about what YOU feel is right for YOU rather than asking people what you should buy. GL man!
