I'm deeply in love with mine ...having changed cars 4 times in the last year and a half, the 1er is going on 8 months, so that's a good indication!

I would love the car if it had more aggressive offsets. And better brake pads. I hate how soft Brembo pads are. Other than that, fun car. Surprises most idiots in Chargers, Mustangs, and Camaros when they see my brake lights getting smaller and farther ahead of them...

Yes, I want a Cayman R
But as a daily driver and for the occasional country road thrills, I am very pleased with my 1.

I would take a Cayman S in a heart beat but for the money what am I really gaining thats worth almost double the price? The brand is the answer. And sadly yes, its worth that cost to me. However if I am going to jump over, I think it would need to be more than just a side step in performance. I would probably need at least a 911 C2S to make it worth my while because if it's not why don't I just keep the 135i until I am ready to make that larger jump? The Cayman S/R is a fine car and maybe if it was closer in money to what I'm driving now I'd consider jumping sooner. Or maybe if I knew it would only be a track car that I had some extra $ I'd be using to make it into one (like turboing it and dropping weight, adding a cage and race seats, all of that) then I might do it when my lease on the 1er is up. But if its just going to be a car I baby the crap out of, only drive on sunny days that don't require any hauling or traffic or sitting in a parking lot while I'm working... then it needs to be a 911 for me to feel like I got exactly what I wanted since I was 4 yrs old and I just don't get that same feeling on the boxster/cayman because I know I'd always be wanting just a little bit more (a 911). |

Rattles and creeks from day one. Could live with that and the replacement of all 3 tail light assemblies but the loss of low end power after they reflashed when changing the hpfp is a deal breaker. Not the same car I purchased. A year left on my lease and I can't wait

I feel the same way. I'm at 2.5 years now and I finally starting to see the finish line for my mods. I never thought I would have spent as much money as I have though but it's been a lot of fun!

3 years and 65K miles later I still love my car, and now that the warranty is gone I've started modding, so the fun is going to last a very long time.
But I'll be leaving for a year and I have no idea how I am going to cope with knowing that I'm trusting my cars well being to my dad. But until then I'm flogging a grin onto my face every time I go for a drive |

Does not meet expectations. Waited 20 years to get my first one and it's better than average. It's the little to middle shortcomings that keep me from being impressed. Dealers should do better by the brand and stop treating customers less than. ;-) |

Barely two years and over 34,000 miles and loving every moment of it!! My poor motorcycle thinks I don't love it anymore since it rarely gets ridden any longer.
