Hello,

I’m processing the paperwork for the international shipment noted above and have included the invoice for reference.

In order to prevent a possible delay in clearing US Customs, I will need the following information.

I’ve attached the required HS7 (DOT) form for completion and return.

Fill out what you know at the top, mainly the description. Mark the box that applies and fill out the bottom.

Thanks for your help!

Sorry to intrude, but we also had this discussion so many times over in the German 1 series Forum.

You will need in 99% the cases the Blackline lights for Xenon! So, even if your car doesn't have Xenon but is a pre-LCI car then you also go with the Xenon version of the Blacklines

ONLY if you already have regular LCI lights due to the LCI model (approx. 3/11 onwards) and have HALOGEN headlights you have to order the Blackline halogen version.

Please proceed and show us your new backs!

Yeah, the Fedex guy actually called me and was very nice on the phone, and I filled it out and sent it back, and he said everything was good and done on his end.

The hot sounding ones are never hot in person.

I checked box 2B, opposed to the recommendation for 2A by someone else. I'm guessing it doesn't matter at all though.

I checked 2a and never heard a thing. Didn't someone in here say something about what happens if you check 2B?

Edit: maybe a non issue but here's the post:
Okay, bit of an update. Just got a return call from the FedEx guy, he requested that I fax over the HS7 form with 2A checked. I orginally faxed it over with 2B checked. He made no remark on DOT regulations or anything like that. He simply said
"They're official BMW taillights, so just check 2A and you'll be fine. Your item is in flight now, so this will prevent any customs delay."

Thanks. I've been emailing back and forth with someone at FEDEX and they accepted everything today but I'll let people know if I hit a snag.

Slightly off topic. I'm thinking about picking up a set of these for my 2012 135i.

My question is what do guys think the resale value of my factory LCI tail lights would be? Any idea what they run new? I'm assuming someone might want to buy them to replace their factory pre-LCI taillights.

Don't know if this helps but here is the most recent thread in the sales section that sold a standard LCI tailights.

Seems a bit high. Not sure I would pay $280 for used when a tiny bit more gets you new blacklines. But someone else obviously was willing to pay.

I was going to guess in the $200ish area, but I guess they are worth what people are willing to pay when you sell like the link above. But I would get a set of blacklines assuming you could flip your current for $300

I guess it comes to preference.. before people discovered the blacklines I think they were selling for even maybe higher.. I think people who are selling their LCI tailights (reg models) are comparing to them brand new.. if you want to sell them faster $200.00 is obviously a very attractive price.. half of what the black lines will cost shipped.

Just helping whostorm05 get an idea of what the most recent one sold for..

FYI, i got these in about 6 days from ordering.

Unfortunately, ive decided not to use them and stick with OEM.

Mine just arrived and are brand new in the box. Check the for sale forums if you are interested in picking them up from me at a small discount (and faster shipping )
