Largest rear tire on stock 135i rim?

For a 135i: What is the largest size tire we can have on our rears with the stock OEM rim and stock M Sport suspension?

Existing rears are 245/35 on 18" x 8.5" Rims

and with that rear larger tires. Can we keep the existing OEM size on the fronts or should they be larger as well?

Existing fronts are 215/40 on 18" x 7.5" Rims

Thanks!

225's in the front and 255's in the rear is the general consensus.

Are these too large?

Front 245/35 tires on 18x8.5 Rims

Rear 265/35 tires on 18x9.5 Rims

That will fit the wheels no problem

It depends on the wheel offset. 265s can rub in the rear if the wheel offset is too low.

Another question.

Will 265/40 fit on the rear OEM 18" x 8.5" Rims?

Will 255/45 fit on the rear OEM 18" x 8.5" Rims?

and on the front, can I stay with 215/40 on the OEM 18" x 7.5" Rims when using either two above mentioned sizes for the rear?

I am trying to go with the widest tire utilizing the stock rear rims while leaving the front stock set up alone.

THANKS!

I have 245/40s and 285/30s on that rim setup. I would not go bigger than 225/255 on the stock setup.

255/45 would be a really tall sidewall tire, would look silly and be much larger circumference than stock.

Sorry to thread jack but I'm curious about the largest tires we can fit with the stock M-sport suspension and possibly BMW Performance Suspension without any rubbing/contact/etc. All stock, no rolling, no spacers, nothing...

The stock wheel specs are:
Front: 18" x 7.5" et 49
Rear: 18" x 8.5" et 52

I'm think 235/40 R18 up front and 265/35 R18 for the rears?

If you don't want rubbing issues, it's 225/40r18 on the front, 255/35r18 on the back.

If you're asking what can be fit on the rims, it's 245f/265r - but it's not recommended - (depending on the tire) you're pulling in very hard at the top of the rubber and causing the tire to be more oval shaped than it's supposed to.

Also, you'll probably rub, and at the back there's a gas filler line that you can sever if you rub in the wrong spot (which is incredibly inconvenient next time you go to fill up).
