wax or polish first?

After washing my car, should I wax, then polish, or polish then wax?

Polish first, then wax.

Polishing cleans the finish, waxing protects it.

+1 on the clay! Make sure you clay prior to polish. It removes all the contaminates that you missed in your wash, including tar and other junk that can come off when you polish and cause more damage to your paint as they spin around on the pad.
