WOOT! Ordered our 135i!
Woot! Just ordered our car:
135i M Sport Edition (Canada) 6MT LeMans Blue Black Boston leather with Blue Stitching Navi Package + Apps (delivered with Euro maps loaded) Premium Package Premium Sound Package Executive Package ED (June 3rd Delivery Date) PPK- Variant 2 Performance Exhaust (just for the sound) So basically just built a US 135is, which is not available here, and wanted to get it before the 2er comes out, which I am sure will be bigger, heavier, slower AND more expensive. This is going to be a long 3 months. Stelvio Pass and Nurburgring here we come..... Last edited by MightyMouseTech; 03-01-2013 at 11:35 AM.. |

I like it, too. Your comments about the 2-series hit home with me. I'm seriously thinking about trading in my '09 128 on a new one this summer, as I go out of warranty. I just don't have faith that the 2-series will be an improvement.

And now that the nomenclature is going to a 2er, you know BMW is going to be able to up the price on it. I LOVE the size of the current 1er, it is perfect for my wife and I. We have no kids, and do not plan on ever having them. We currently have a smart fortwo, a Civic coupe, and a Vespa. The Civic is MORE than enough to handle anything we want to do with a car, and the 1er is actually a tiny bit smaller than the Civic. It is also much, much faster!! Great for teaching at track days. Perfect!!! It is like this car was designed with us in it's crosshairs and thus have wanted one since the day it came out. My wife and I both enjoy speed. I have been racing for 8 years and teaching for 3. In fact, the day after our wedding last month, we celebrated by driving 458's and an Aventador on track. Not good that my wife fell in love with the Ferrari though... LOL! Hopefully this car will keep her speed cravings satisfied, I can't afford the Ferrari. We finally picked her up June 4th at the Welt!!!!
The second most painful thing was keeping it easy for the first 2000km for the break in. Luckily, as I turned the corner onto the Stelvio Pass, the odo read 1998 km. What a trip! Germany.....Austria.......Northern Italy......South of France. Dropped her off a week and a half later in Nice with just under 3000 km on the clock. The most painful thing now is waiting the 4-6 weeks to drive it again. Unfortunately, my wife and I are now spoiled as she says. This is the ONLY way to buy a new car. MightyMouse - great build, great looking car, and you've had the enjoyment of ED. Can't get a lot better than that.
Incidently, I agree with your opening comments on the up-coming 2 Series, which is why I recently traded my 135i DCT for a 135i 6MT. I do think this car is a keeper.

Yes, those are the standard wheels for the Canadian M Sport Edition! Even comes with the IS black mirrors, grille, pedals etc etc, and was even able to order it with the same black leather with blue stitching and blue trimmed mats. Really is an IS without the badges, PPK and exhaust. And the exhaust is on the way.

I can't imagine how the number of cup holders would make me sell a car that I love driving. BMWs are for driving enjoyment, who cares how many cup holders there are?
