I had a supercharged e36 m3 that I just totaled 😞 and that's how I ended up with the 135i
If you do choose to go that route, I have some ssr type c that are 17x8 offset 38 15 lbs a wheel. They were off the car when the accident occurred |

Damn that sucks! Sorry to hear. How do you like 135 vs M3?
I'll PM you on wheels if I get one!

It definitely felt more connected to the ground but that could have been my 900 spring rates. I definitely miss the LSD. It's a tough comparison because it was track ready where the 135 is luxury ready if you know what I mean. A fair comparison would be a 135i with an LSD and m3 suspension bits. Maybe someone can chime in who has a 135 with an LSD that has driven an e36 m3. Hate the seats on the 135i though. I will definitely be saving for the BMW performance seats made by recaro

Would I be disappointed if my 135i already has M3 bits, coil overs, camber plates, 4 point harness, etc? No LSD though!

You would be surprised on how different of a feel the LSD makes. It's hard to explain but in a way it almost balances the car more. Maybe you are to the point where you need a full track car.
The reason I mentioned an elise or exige is because they are pretty close to a dedicated track car but you can still drive them to the track. If I were in your shoes I would find an exige s240 and go test drive it, the only problem is that if or when you wreck it's going to be a $35,000-$50,000 car you wrecked Last edited by tglazed; 03-20-2014 at 04:35 PM.. |

I found my friend's car to be very nice to drive with a fully upgraded suspension in comparison to my m roadster. He goes to a stock map for autox (but still had intake and exhaust hooked up), I found the lack of LSD in our cars to make the biggest difference in slow or sharp corners (tends to understeer or oversteer hard with all that torque). It's really the only time I really miss my m roadster is on the very tight and narrow back roads. Also, any e30 rear suspension car is going to be a handful with a lot of power without proper suspension setup. I'm actually looking into making a e36 318/325is for a dedicated track setup, don't really need the extra power when you're learning and the cars are dirt cheap now. |

What about an e36 era M Roadster or Z3? Could it still do decent with track prep?

Being so track oriented and competing with the 135, i am surprised you haven't put an LSD in the car.
LSD and some over-flares and stuff some 285s on 17x10s! |

For the money you want to spend a built Evo IX RS is easily going to be the fastest.

LSD was my next mod actually! But the car is not competitive in the nasa TT class it's in and I don't wanna gut it.
So.... Just picked up a 98 e36 M3 today! :-) already has coil overs, camber plates, and exhaust. Might test it out Saturday with NASA! Thanks for everyone's help!!
