I just found a local independent BMW shop here in Albuquerque, NM (Hans Wittler) that has the AutoLogic system. He is checking on the upgrade that will include the 135.

Someone might have already said this, I just didnt want to read all the comments. But what I do is click the seat belt in whether theres someone in it or not, then it thinks that someone is in it and the chime doesn't go off.
Theres also a DIY I read a few weeks ago (I didn't do it to my car) where the guy took off the gauge cluster (only a few screws) to reveal the chime speaker on the back. After that he used electrical tape (layers of it) to cover the speaker up. This seemed to get good reviews among people that tried it out, so this is always an option. Good Luck!

You can have this coded to stop the chime and warning. I know the coding guys offer it. It is a popular mod. Find someone in your area that does coding. |

dont know if it'll work in the BMW but in dads range rover sport if you put the key in the ignition and turn it once so that all the electrics come on, then put the seat belt in and out i think 9 or 10 times then it disables it, drivers side.

If you have access to the speaker, why not just cut the wire to it instead of messing with electrical tape, which will not completely silence it? |

I would not do THAT! besides... you would have no stereo system then! lol Besides the GONG goes off for important stuff too. Like when it gets near freezing (~3'C or less) or when there is ANY malfunction like Limp Mode or engine over heating, ect. Most people only notice teh gong for simple things like seat belts or low fuel or low ambient temps. |

The GONG noise comes from the stereo speakers. I know what he wrote. But that sound comes from the car's stereo system speakers on my car and every other BMW i have driven. Maybe he was talking about an older BMW model? IF the gong noise bothers you... have it coded out by someone who knows SW coding. Dack |

I was just replying to his post. It didn't make sense to me that someone would put electric tape over a speaker after all the effort to remove the console and expose the speaker. |

I went to a junk yard and found a seat belt buckle.
They charged me ZERO dollars lucky me... I just plug in the buckle when I transport a gallon of milk. Stupid seat belt gong thing....stupid german fear of litigation. My wife's minivan has a procedure in the owner's manual that disables the gong but leaves the light on the dash. Why must this simple alarm be so persistent, even my daughter's Hyundai has an alarm that stops after seconds... Just so annoying on an expensive car. Not logical... |

That is funny the people at BMW have a sound engineer a sound booth/studio who's only job is to create this particular sound that we cannot stand and want to turn off

You can turn off the seat belt chime using NCSExert and an OBDII cable from One Stop Electronics. The cable is $99, software is on the Internet downloadable for free. I have done this, and it sure is nice not to have that gong. I always buckle up anyway.
