Finally got my N55 135, thinking about tuning OEM or aftermarket
Well, I finally got my 2012 135i m. Space grey, terra interiors. Have enjoyed it a lot although it takes some getting use to the the lag of the tranny, sometimes when in the middle of a turn you want power it takes a little for the power to come, if you are in manual the power is right there, so I am thinking this is tranny lag (DCT).
Thinking about tuning it and looking at the OEM option 320hp or going aftermarket, 360-380hp. The big thing is that I get to keep my warranty with the OEM, and you get a couple extra coolers (although not for free). Is there really a huge difference as the number mark between going aftermarket to OEM? or is it not such a big deal once driving? I do apprecciate the warranty and here in Mexico the dealer does not have to prove that the tuning was at faul for whatever is wrong to void the warranty, they will just cancel it period if they find out. So is the aftermarket that much better to be worth the risk? Thanks!!! |
