Its more thicker than the M-sport wheel. Plus it doesn't feel as cheap. The leather at first was kind of hard... but I used some leather seat conditioner on my M3 wheel and it feels so good now. I only used conditioner once when I first got the wheel.
It sounds weird but the M3 wheel really makes your perception of how the car drives - so much better. I don't really know how to say it... but I wish I had not waited a year before buying the M3 wheel. I feel like my best mods have been the cdv-delete, my M3 wheel and my Performance SSK, my M3 rear subframe bushings and my German flash tune(380 PS & 520Nm, 14 psi of boost). I have a few more mods too, but those were the BEST mods! Dackel

Did you get the DCT paddle shifters with the M3 steering wheel? Our Automatic paddle shifters will not fit on the M3 DCT wheel without modification. As for working - plug and play for the AT but not the 135i DCT transmission.

This might have to be my next mod. I was considering the M-Sport and the M3 Alcantara/Coby steering wheel, but my friend's M-Sport steering wheel hasn't been wearing in too well and Alcantara is relatively harder to maintain. I also think that this matches the the ZHP shift knob very well.
I'm guessing a standard sport steering airbag and trim fits into the m3 tri-stitched steering wheel? |

I might be confused, but is the M3 tri-stitched from the photo above p/n 32302283733? p/n 32302212772 seems like the Alcantara version with the blue center line. |

At first I wasn't gonna change my wheel trim... but then I decided to go with the M3 wheel trim... for that little ///M at the bottom of the trim. Its just a tad different from the M-sport ///M emblem. The M3 steering wheel is a really nice addition for our cars. A friend of mine has the Alcantara Performance wheel on his 135i - and he LOVES it. But yea... you do have to take care of it. With my M3 wheel on my 135i - when ever I wash my car... I just take my damp shammy and wipe down the leather on my steering wheel and shifter and also on the dashboard. That's all the maintenance I do for the leather. Dackel

Damn, the Performance stuff is selling like hot cakes in Germany. Found a mint Performance steering wheel in the morning and when I came home from work, it had been already sold. FML.

Edit: sorry you lost out on the Performance steering wheel. Hopefully, you'll find another one soon. Good luck.

Thanks. I found one today and am close to buying it. The seller said that it had been used for 6,000 miles and regularly cleaned with warm water and a damp towel. Looks very good in the photos.

That sounds pretty good. At 6k miles it should still be in decent condition. Hope you're getting a good price as well. BTW, that's how I clean my steering wheel. Let us know, and post some pics if you get it.

Pic from the ad. Costs $390. Still hella expensive, but a brand new one costs around $660. BTW, used electronic versions go for eight hundred... I do the steering wheel & gear knob once a month (car is not driven regularly) and I've cleaned the seats twice already this year. Just last week I did a thorough cleaning and applied a coat of a leather protector on the seats. Just need to buy an Alcantara cleaner now.

I bought my car new and never eat in it. Maybe some genital crabs or head lice though.
