Something along those lines. It is a bit more involved than that. We actually need the majority of the E82 chassis side harness and then combine it with the E9x harness so that the additional modules get wired correctly.

We have prepped the subframes and done a test install to get the dimension needed for the driveshaft. Then it is out to the driveshaft shop to get cut to the proper length!

We get to tear it all out and do it again (need to run fuels lines etc) but on the initial fit everything looks good!

Wiring is mostly complete, just need to add the cluster back in and a little bit of coding work.

Suspension and brakes are in... oh yeah and the s65

We have to get the driveshaft cut to length and some last bits of wiring and coding left to do.

We have started work on the exhaust and drive shaft. Both of these require a little massaging to blend the E82 chassis with the E9x subframe/DCT/S65!

FWIW, I have had a LOT of help from many many sources.
Plus, ilikebmxbikes had already blazed the trail.

For example, based on his experiences we knew we needed to beef up the u-joints on the driveshaft to handle the additional torque.

Things slowed (predictably) over the holidays but we are now back at it!
The driveshaft has been installed and fits perfectly.

The exhaust has been finished and installed to the car.

The entire bottom side (minus a few trim pieces) has been buttoned up!

We are working on the interior now and some finishing details (coding, final wiring tweaks, firing the motor etc)...

Exciting times!

We have never stopped working on the car, I just lag behind with updates from time to time!

We have moved on to the interior and exterior details.
Shifter is installed and most of the interior is put back together.
Seats are going in, M3 mirrors and OEM mirror caps are installed (w/OEM euro glass in them!).
