Lakeside APRIL 2012
The next round for the QR Series isn't happening until June so I thought we could run at another event to satisfy the need for speed.
At Lakeside I'm expecting less (or no) limp issues because it's not an outright horsepower track, it's based more on handling and driving skill. Friday 27 April 2012 BMW Club QLD. Sprints Rd 4. Cost is $190 (members) and $220 (non-members). There is no option for a half day. Confirmed 27 April: BMW86 BIZ-AU TimMc Let me know if you are keen to as spaces are limited. I'll update this first post with the latest info. Last edited by BMW86; 04-15-2012 at 08:30 AM.. |

I'm keenish Vinney. Not too sure if I'll be in town though (work) and after your showing at QR I'm not sure I can keep up... You & Michael were quicker than John's 335i at QR and he's an experienced track driver in a well set up car.
I'll pencil it in. Last edited by TimMc; 04-03-2012 at 03:51 AM.. |

Don't worry Michael, there will be plenty more track days. It looks like we'll be doing the BMW Club day on the 27 April anyway. Will you be in town for it? |

So is the one on the 27th counting towards the points system from the QR day? Or is it seperate?
Not sure if I would be able to make it anyway... |

The QR and Lakeside events are scored separately. The Sat 21/4 is based on points but it's round 2 anyway, we missed the 1st round at Lakeside last month. The QR event we did was the 1st round of the series. Let me know how you get on Rich, would be great if you could make it to Lakeside. You put down some pretty quick times at QR. Looks like 27/4 is the preferred date so far at this stage.

I'm keen but don't want to take the E30 out again and have to do some major exhaust mods to be able to take anything else out at Lakeside. We'll see what happens...

Anthony, I've seen your E30 out there before, it's a quick car at Lakeside. Should bring it! I probably should sound test my exhaust just in case.

No need to test Vin, i heard you drive past many times at QR and you will have no problems.

Aren't you glad Vinney that you palmed off your super loud exhaust to me ! Now you can easily race @ lakeside, and I can continue to be the most hated resident in my street! Lol

Locked and loaded! Karl and I are in.
Tim - What is your schedule looking like so far.. do you know if you will be available? Anthony - Bring out the E36 M3 to Lakeside! if it's too loud bring out the E30!! It would be great if you both can make it Also, are you sure my new exhaust will be fine for Lakeside? It's pretty tame at lower rpm but still makes a bit of noise when above 5k. Sounds a bit different than it did at QR, turned out I had a bad exhaust leak which is fixed now. Hoping it improves performance, but dyno says it feels quicker and less laggy but that doesn't mean much :P |
