Question about tire size

I have a stock square RFT setup on my 12 128i on 17' rims. This past weekend one of the rear tire hit the pothole ending up flat. To give a little staggered look i want to install bigger tires. Current size is 205/50 R17. Will 225/45 fit or is that too much? Appreciate the responses.

Fits just fine. Although consider going 225 all around eventually.

Yup you'll have no problems.
