Metallic Noise Coming From Transmission Area
N55 135i with 6MT.
Been an ongoing thing for at least one year now, but has not gotten any worse. It can be heard inside the car, too. Most noticeably when the vehicle is still cold. When the car is in neutral and at idle, no noise. When the car is in gear but no throttle applied, no noise. It makes this grinding metallic noise when in a higher gear (say, 4th or 5th) and at around 30-45 mph. That's when it's loud. To me, it sounds like something is rotating inside something, near where the transmission and drive shaft meet. I have no idea what it is since I have little tech knowledge and I have not found anything similar on the forums or Google.

Geez....what does the transmission oil look like?
Wonder if these are going to get noisy (but keep on workign fine) like the old e30's Getrags as they age?
