AMG A45
I was lucky enough to drive and have a good look around the new A45 today, we even had it up on the hoist for a poke and a prod, this is a real nice motor car.
BMW needs to watch out as this is very much new tech 4x4 and all, at the RRP BMW have nothing that comes even close. BMW watch out the new Mercs are coming. Nice to see Joe, John, the new owner Donald, and ladies |

well iirc there is only a handfull of peeps with highly modded n54's that are sub 13's so in real terms i dont see many beating this stock AMG at the TLGP unless the gods give them a helping hand. shit even in second the 1/3er's have a very hard time holding traction.

The 1M stock is already a 12.9s car Quarter mile.
With tune + bolt on mods easy low 12s... I aren't taking about TLGP...that's for sissys..I m talking about the 1/4. |

I'd like to hear Donald's thoughts on what it's been like to live with for a few days and his overall impressions of it TBH. |

There's no reason why a tuned 1M can't beat a stock A45 down the quarter mile but it really will all come down to the driver and maybe a little bit of luck.
With my car (not a 1M), the best quarter mile time I've gotten is 12.5 @ 116mph. Of course it's not easy and a lot of the time I'm getting 12.7s due to wheel slip. If I had more skill I'm sure my car would be capable of low or even sub 12s. And that should be the same for Ian's car, especially as he's pulling similar power on Pete's dyno and has more rubber at the rear as well as an LSD. The best 0-100kph time I've achieved (according to my P3) is 3.89 seconds. Official acceleration times for the A45 is 4.6 seconds. Of course I can't replicate this every time, often getting in the 4s or even 5s with too much wheel spin off the line, but it's possible. Just not easy unlike with an A45 with DCT and AWD. If I were to race a stock A45 down the quarter mile I'd probably lose about 50-70% of the time.

If I am so hyped up about drag racing I would get this instead of the 1M
http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/de...?Cr=10&sdmvc=1 No, I get it because it's fun to drive around. |
