That makes no sense to me...you can't just cut off paint sealant. Something sounds fishy to me but i'm no expert in this arena...

Reading bewteen the lines... it sounds like your shop isn't comfortable withing rolling the fenders. I would look elsewhere.

Btw... there are some body shop chemicals - that you can apply to the painted fenders to allow the paint to flex/bend with the "rolling" job. It is also best to do this to new paint rather than hard older painted fenders.

You should ask around who does good european car repairs and ask them for thier advice in fender rolling.

Ok the rear fender is double lipped with a trim sealer or whatever. What they r trying to say is the rear will take a while cause it's double lipped and thick.

So its not that they can't do it, its just going to take them a while longer. Remind them that they are getting paid to do this and that they should just get to work instead of complaining about it.

go to a more competent shop. I had my rears rolled twice, not shaved.

i had soulspeed in austin tell me that, it is common for BMW to have a sealant inside the fender lip that they need to cut out so they can roll the fenders, however after they started working on mine they realized the 135's do not have this. They quoted $100 per fender, then charged $50 per side since it did not have the sealant they see in a lot of other bmw's.

the rear is double lipped, you should be able to easily roll the first lip, the second one is much harder to do. I would get the first lip rolled and see if you still need more

Used a friends roller and did our own.
Had no issues with rolling the fronts or the rears.

Ditto. The rears are a bit more labor intensive since they are thicker and harder to work with then the fronts.
