Legit 2009 Dealer?

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a 135, however i think i chose a crappy time to start purchasing one, nothing seems to be working out. I go to one dealer, he says they dont have 09' prices, i go to another dealer they say they dont have 09 prices, i went to another dealer today, and he gave me a price quote and stuff and said if i choose to order one, i will probably get it in november..... not to mention it was about 2 grand over the regular msrp (its just an expensive dealer that way) that sounds absurd to me, its a little to stretched out. is this for real or could i find another dealer who could get it sooner considering the production is going to start up again? i live in new york by the way. i'm kinda lost with what to do. any help / input is greatly appreciated.

Well, having just placed an order on Saturday, I can tell you the following:

2009 prices were made available, at least to my dealer on Friday.

I selected European Delivery, so I received that discount. However, because it comes from their yearly allocation they were not willing to deal below ED MSRP. I was ok with that, because the experience and timing are more important to me.

I would however, NEVER pay more that MSRP. I was dumb enough to do that in year one of the MINI and got killed on resale later on. Since you are in New York, I would call around to any thing in the state or even beyond to get the best deal. Check Internet/Web sites because some dealers have better pricing that way as well. Also, there are board sponsors here and on Bimmerfest.com that would take your order over the phone for a much better price.

So what if you have to drive a bit to pick it up if you save thousands of dollars? It just gets you past the break in period faster!

First, welcome aboard. I have purchased my last two BMWs from Habberstad in Huntington. There have been several bumps in the road but over all it has been very positive, especially when I have had to bring my cars in for service.

I think there are still a few '08 models left, but the number is dwindling rapidly. They only made 10,000 for '08.

If you want a manual, forget it. You'll need to go with an '09 special order. The dealer I ordered from in Socal had about 6 or 7 on the lot with a mixture of 128 coupes and convertibles. Only one 135 and they were all autos.

However, the big reason that you might want to wait for the 2009 is the revamped iDrive. That, and I'm always wary of the first model year of any new car.

yea former i agree with you, first model always a little hesitant to buy, thats cool that in cali they had 7 on the lot, here in ny they only had 1... NY is kinda "ghetto" and cheap that way. they only order to sell so theirs no extras laying around... pathetic.

Either that or look at a 3 series. With the 0.9% financing a lot of people are getting effectively similar pricing on a 3 as would be available on a 1 series.

For me that isn't an option - I like the smaller car, regardless of price.
