Super concave and fit properly don't really coincide on these cars. It comes down to your definition of "proper fit."
The VB3s have a nice concave in the rear IMO and will fit reasonably with a decent tire. You aren't really going to find a wheel setup that's super concave that will fit without rubbing on a 275wide tire without substantial camber and fender modification. It just won't really happen.

You can easily run a 275 and even a 285 on a 9.5" wide wheel. Just as you can run a 225 on a 9.5" wide wheel, if you choose to do so. Is it recommended for the every-day user? Probably not, but its doable and has been done before plenty of times.
So again, what is your definition of "proper fit"?

forgestar does the offset per order and figures out the "most aggressive" fitment without causing issues...so im not sure...but it looks to be et 40-45 front and et 42-50 rear...
not worried about tires i have that down (i think) more worried about getting these done and having them not fit perfectly... |

So here's the deal. When you have a higher offset (50+ on a 9.5"wide wheel) you are going to sacrifice potential concavity. Period. The lower the offset, the more potential concavity you gain but you then start to give up tire width to clear fenders at some point.
And the concavity of the forgestars don't change between, say, 42 and 50 for an offset in the 9.5" wide model. They make a blank and just machine the hub section down to reach the desired offset. They do have different blank shapes though, which some are more concave than others. Their "most aggressive" may not be aggressive enough for you unless you send your car to them so they can test-fit. What it comes down to is you need to decide if you want wide rubber with little fender/camber mods or concave wheels and potentially need to roll/pull/add camber to fit the tire size you want. It's rather difficult to have both on these cars. It's just how it goes.

I hope that... uhh... helped?
BTW, you should swing by BrenTuning Saturday 3-16 between 9-5 to check out some local BMWs getting tuned. No need to actually spend any money, just come hang out and check them out.

yeah it helped a lot. I have it pretty much down but was wondering if anyone had any forgestars or others on their cars w/ different offsets than recommended and if they had clearance issues or if they fit.
I will swing by Saturday, hoping I can pick my car up from the body shop before hand so I dont look like a jackass in my sweet rental |

The most aggressive concave rim would be VMR 45 offset in the rear i would attempt..i did...and if you like the stretched look than a 245 tire would work no problems..I am not fond of having stretched tires on rims and feel they look questionable so i went with 255 ADO8's that run wide.A perfect fit for the 9.5" rim would of been 265/275 rear but no way in hell that would work on a 45 offset rim so with a fender roll and negative camber is the only way to make a vMR rim look "proper" and not rub...

If you were a tad more patient, Bremmer Kraft is releasing the BR10 through TireRack. Great offsets in the 18" version and serviceable offsets in the 19" version. It looks really good IMO from the pictures. I'm considering picking up a set myself.

I'm looking to do 19's on my 135i. What are some tried and true wheels, offsets, and tire sizes for them that I can go with? I don't mind rolling the fenders a bit, but going to negative camber etc. is a bit too deep for me.
