Since reading this thread I now switch my keys every few days so they both stay fresh and charged. I told my service advisor I do this and she thought it was a good idea. I don't have comfort access.

When I bought a Japanese SUV with "comfort access" the dealer offered to sell me key insurance! He said it was $350 to replace a key and for a few dollars a month (I forget the exact amount, but it was under $10), they would replace the key free of charge during the life of the loan.

I obviously declined (have never lost a key in my life), but thought it was pretty funny.
