M3 rear arms upgrade

Just curious to know if you need an alignment after replacing the rear arms to M3 bits (upper guides and wishbones only, not replacing the lower control arms)??

I am very time poor at the moment and plan on doing M3 rear upgrade one night and the M3 fronts another...Just need to drive my car to work each day so I plan on having it aligned after the fronts are complete.

As I see it only the lower control arms and toe arms are adjustable. Providing the M3 arms are the same length as the original there should be no need for an alignment?

The e90post XI forums say alignment was off when changing rear springs. So assumption is that the alignment will change.

You are best to drive a very limited amount to save tires

You should be OK with changing just the two upper arms. No adjustment in those as you noted. It was fine for me, and I checked my alignment just in case. Of course now that I just did the lower arm, I had to do a full alignment.
