production cut off for the 135i and 135is

anyone know when that is? I assume later this summer?

My 135i convert lease ends March 2014- I definitely want to get another, but in Coupe format- and I'll want another manual 6sp- so an order most likely... want to make sure I don't miss out on production.

Thanks

Good question, need to get a 1 series before the 2 series comes out!

My production is this month, and the dealer was telling me it is one of the last.

If you wait until March 2014, you will out of luck. Get one now, or buy CPO later. EOP date is very soon, according to my BMW dealer.

Talk to BMW FS and your dealer about the possibility of turning your current car in early in conjunction with the order. They may be flexible considering you want to order another BMW.

We "know" the E82 is scheduled to die this year. We also know there will be June builds of the 1er in Leipzig -- confirmed by a local dealer who reported the build date of an actual order -- and that the Leipzig plant is scheduled to start production of the i3 in August. (In fact, actual production vehicles have already started to come off the line since early this year.) Last, BMW has said that production form i3's will be seen before the Frankfurt show in September.

My unsubstantiated, wild-ass guess is that the last E82 will be built July 19… and that will be the end. The line then will be changed over to start making the i3 in volume by the end of August. No more of this:

And more of this:

Actually Leipzig (as other BMW) plants can produce cars in a "mixed" production. Meaning one car X1, then an e82 or e88 then an i3. All rolling down the assembly line.

The Leipzig factory buildings are arranged in the shape of a "hand" and each of the fingers are where the sub assemblies are done. I know last year when I toured Leipzig(for the third time) they were building like crazy there. Not just new buildings but they were also expanding the metal press areas bc as is they run over time. Leipzig is BMW's most advanced factory - this is the reason why the i3 and (later) the i8 will be built there.

I do not know when EOP (End of Production) will be for the e82. I suspect very soon. Probably July or August at the latest. We know starting from November the F22 should start to roll out of the factory.

Thanks all especially Dackel and exPat. I'm really curious about this topic since it's my first dive into anything BMW. I started lusting after the 135i but after adding enough crap to it, added $800 and just went for the 135is. After e-mailing back and forth with the dealer, they're talking about getting a 'slot' and 'crossing their fingers'. I now know what this means. They BETTER make my car. Darnit.

Hi all, (First post)
Working with my local dealership, on 31May (Thursday) there remained 15 available 135is production slots allocated to North America (or maybe just the USA). On 2Jun, I was told there were 11 slots left. My local dealership had one of the 15 slots, so I was lucky to get my order in last Saturday.
Best of luck to Canasian and anyone else going after the last few 135is's. I hope guys get your vehicles built!

Congrats to all getting their 135is's built. Seems like a lot of them are in lemans blue lately.

I wonder when all is said and done, how many total 135is's there will end up being in the US? 200? 300? I have no doubt you guys will love yours once they arrive.

Thanks! Yes this makes sense now! They did confirm I got a build slot so... the wait begins! It's seriously been ONE week and I can't even handle myself. 8-10 weeks is SSUUCCHH a long time! Not really as that time will pass faster than I know... but STILL!

I know I will love mine. Even though it's not as drastic of a specialty model as the 1M, it's still nice to know the amount of IS's is super low

Congrats Canasian, and um...might be more like 10-12 weeks depending on your production date, just as a heads up as the darn IS guys sit at the port awhile longer.

You should check out MB135is's car as he's got space gray on coral red.

No premium or tech package for you? And here I thought I was the only one to not get the premium package.

If only they could put you in a coma from order date until it arrives...would make a lot of people's lives easier.

Yes we are twins!!! 135is people, get your electronic asses over to the "135is owners - show us your cars!" thread!!!!!

I'm very interested in how many IS cars will be delivered in total. One year run of limited production sounds good to me.

OMG! It better only be 8 weeks for the last 135is run. I ordered 2 days ago and I my flex polisher can't wait much longer.
