Anyone know how to look up the shipping schedule for NYKline? I went on their site http://www2.nykline.com/index.html?tab=vessel then typed into the box that says vessel schedules and selected the tab that says Route and nothing came up. It had no results for me but they clearly ship to Port Hueneme, CA... I looked this up multiple times by changing the time span in which to search their schedule. Then I searched by selecting the Vessel tab and entered the name of one of their ships to see its schedule... still no results. Anyone have a way of finding their schedules to Port Hueneme, CA? Definitely not as user-friendly as Wallenius Wilhelmsen's site.

I just use yahoo search, enter the ship name and word location, and like magic I get the last reported location and date of planned arrival in social among the first few results.

Think it'll get here by halloween? That'd be a nice trick or treat!
1800 says released to a carrier, awaiting transport to the port of exit!

10/5 edit: 1800 now says it's on its way to the port of exit! Hopefully it will get on a ship shortly!

10/12 edit: Spoke with a CS rep and he said it arrived at the port on 10/6. Looks like there's a WW ship leaving today, hopefully it gets aboard!

10/13 edit: Entered my VIN into WW's tracking site, and it is on the MIGNON - left on 10/12, due to arrive in NYC on 10/26. Hooray! 1800/OC are not updated (as expected).

All good information but a little stale. My 128i, ordered on 10/12/2011 was shipped from Hamburg on the Bospouros Highway not a Wallenuis vessel, at least they disclaim it. BMW must be diversifying it's carriers.
This explains why i could never find it on the Wallenius Track and Trace site.

My SA was able to tell me the precise ship name, which is going to be the best way to track -- rather than guessing about shipping date and carrier.

Currently, you can get the NYK Line schedule from Premiership LTD It's the "Round the World Route" Of course there is no guarantee how long that link will work! It comes in the form of an Excel Spread Sheet.

Here is an interesting factoid that has been alluded to in a couple of posts. BMW sometimes uses Wallenius Wilhelmsen for West coast deliveries. MPowerF1 and my car are both on the Fedora headed for Port Hueneme.

The price of the car is the same ordered or all ready on the lot. If you order, then you not only get just what you want but you can also have more than one dealer compete for your sale. I just ordered a 135i sticker will be $46,620.00 and I am paying $43,600.00 a savings of $3,020.00. The down side is you have to wait for the car.

Angry Annoyed

Since this is my first BMW, I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. I ordered my 128i conv. on 1/28. I was told that I should expect delivery in 4 - 6 weeks. Yesterday was exactly 1 month and the car status online is "Production Ends". It's been in the Production Ends stage for over 10 days now. When do you think I can reasonably expect the car? The lease on my old car expired and I gave it back. Since then, my wife and I have been sharing 1 car and it's getting annoying.

Your car should get on a boat shortly (and may already have). It you're so inclined, you can flip through the ordering/tracking guide on the first page of this thread to track down shipping schedules for the various lines and that should give you an idea. My car ended up taking about that much time to get on a boat.

As for having to drive around in one car, I'd talk to your dealer about that as I have heard dealers offering loaner cars while customers waited for delivery of their ordered cars. That may only be the case, however, if you turned in a leased BMW, but it's still worth checking out.

I'd also say that the estimate of 4 - 6 weeks was very optimistic. Normally, 6 - 8 is the typical time frame. I'd say you're about 3 weeks away from delivery.

Mine got ordered 1/26 and is on the boat now to be unloaded in NY tomorrow. After that the boat stops in SC a couple days from now. Did you check to see if yours is on a specific boat (like maybe the same ship as mine)?

If yours says "production ends" then that means you're probably not on any ship yet. That seems odd since you ordered only a couple days after me. The website is not always up to date so call the 800 number and see what that says.

You are probably sitting on the dock waiting for a boat.

I think you may actually have a 4 day advantage. Even though I gave the deposit, etc on the 28th, it was a Saturday and I'm assuming the order went in on the 30th (Monday). I called the 800 number and they also said it's on the dock waiting for a boat. How long did your shipping take?

The salesman told me that it should be on a boat this week, but he also said that last week. I asked for a loaner and they said no they said maybe once the car is on a boat and close to home they may give me a car. I think i'll talk to them again this weekend.

Figure 10-14 days on the water to FL once its loaded onto the boat. Mine was production finished 2/7, loaded onto the boat 2/20 and arrived in NY early this morning (yeah!). That was a day later than the original estimate of 2/29. According to the WW website it looks like it cleared customs already. The ship is scheduled to be in SC, the closest port to you on 3/6, which would be 15 total days from loading to your port.

But I was reading through this thread lasty night and it looks like the car sits at the port for another 7-10 days while its prepped. That seems ridiculous to me but whatever.

I want my car already!

The last car that my parents ordered took 3 days to go from ship to dealer. The ship arrived at port on a Friday and was at the dealer ready for delivery the following Monday. Don't know if that's a unique and rare situation (also on west coast which might be different)...

I REALLY don't want to wait a week plus for the car to get to my dealer. NY is a 2 hour drive away from my dealer.
If that happens I'll have to wait another week because I'll be traveling for work and unable to pick up the car until I get back!

Frustrating experience #1:

My order has been sitting at status 111 since Sunday (5 days now) and the dealer said its normal and just to stick with 6-8 week expectation. Well, I'm trying to hit the first week of June for PCD which would be the 10th week after ordering. Plenty of time, right?

Well I followed up with someone at PCD and they said my car is set to priority 3 which means it'll sit at 111 until the dealership tells the plant they have a buyer. I've talked to my CA about it twice now and he said everything is fine and we'll "hope for the best", but the car is still sitting at 111.

Here's the important part: if the car moves to 112 today I can get my PCD date I need. If I can't get that week I'll have to take dealer delivery as I'll be traveling for work the following 4 weeks.

Where should I go from here? Should I call the sales manager? I feel kind of like an ass because I don't entirely understand the process and fear I may be talking out of my ass, but something feels off here. I'm starting to think this may be where the 12-16 week waits come from: someone being lazy at the dealership.

The dealership has absolutely nothing to do when your car moves from 111 to 112 status. The plant determines which cars are produced based on their need to fill production quota.

Your dealer should place your order in priority 1 status. This will make the car become a priority build and move it to the head of the line over the other status 3 or unsold units when the production week comes up.

What really determines when your car goes into production is the week that the allocation spot sits in. Even if you order your car in week 13 and your allocation slot is a week 15 build, that means your car can potentially sit in 112 status for 2 more weeks until week 15 production starts. The question for your CA/SA should be what week is your car scheduled for? and what week is the plant building? That will give you a realistic time frame for when your car will be here.

I just took delivery of my new 1er last week. The car sat in 112 for 2 weeks after I ordered it and then sat at the port for another week after it arrived in the states. My total wait time was 12 weeks. This is pretty much the standard wait time. Hope this helps.

I can't get anyone to even acknowledge that the priority needs to be changed. All I get back are "alls good!" and "don't worry!", while johnathan at PCD says the car is still priority 3. Arghhh

I spoke with someone at BMW NA and they said my car is in "daily production"... Whatever that means.

Also heard back from dealer. Car is at priority 1 and scheduled for early may build. Hopefully that gets me PCD the first week of June...
