selling a moded car?
Question for you guys who have been in the car mod hobbyist game for a while…. I have not. A little background… This is the first sports type car I have ever owned. I thought it might be fun to buy a sporty car and after reading this site decided to add some mods – also which I have never done. The car does not really fit my life style well and I really have too many toys so I am thinking about selling it – I need a truck to pull my boat. Any how back on topic, the car is a 2009 135, 6 sp. well loaded except without Nav. it has just under 5k miles, I added; new wheels and tires, (DPE S-20 19x8.5 and 19x9 running, 235/265 size tires) , KW V2 coilovers, Berk Performance exhaust, RiSS Racing Air intake. Here is the question: am I better of selling the car with the mods or restoring with the original parts and selling the mods separately? Any input is greatly appreciated. |

I have modified about every vehicle I have ever owned. If you have the time and the stock parts, it is almost always better to put the car back to stock and sell the aftermarket stuff.
Hopefully this doesn't come across as self-serving but I just got my 135i and looking to modify it. I might be able to take most if not all the aftermarket stuff off your hands as a package. No shipping either since I am in Houston. |

return to stock and sell... or find a buyer who knows the car and the value of the mods... but that's a rare thing. You'll take less of a hit returning to stock.
